Save web page to PDF in Google Chrome browser. Options for saving webpage data to a PDF document Saving pages to pdf

If you plan to continue reading a web page offline, or want to capture the current state of the content, you should save it.

To export a page with all its content to the device's memory, choose one of two formats: HTML or PDF. In the case of the first, it is saved as an HTML document and a folder with additional files. When choosing PDF, you get a single document with all the content.

In most situations, it is more convenient to work with a PDF file. It can be annotated in special readers and is easier to share with other people.

Using the standard browser function

Many popular browsers allow you to save pages as PDF files through the print menu. Enter it, being on the desired page, using the combination Ctrl + P. After that, find the save to PDF function in the menu that opens and use it. The browser will not print anything, it will only save the PDF file to your computer.

This method is not without drawbacks. For example, web pages are often saved without links or with broken formatting. If this is critical for you, use any suitable web service.

In a special service

There are many sites on the web that allow you to save web pages as PDF files. Here are just a few of them: Webpage to PDF, Free HTML to PDF Converter, Pdfcrowd, Online PDF Converter, Online-Convert.

They all work pretty much the same. Open any service, paste the link to desired page in its text field and click on the download button. After that, the service will save the PDF file on the device.

The markup of pages converted in this way may differ from the original. But basic formatting, as well as images and links, are preserved. In addition, such services can be used both on a computer and on a mobile device.

Novice users are great: I like that they look at many familiar computer things in a non-standard way, their look at the computer is fresh, as they say, “not washed out”.

Recently I received a question: "How to leave a bonus in the computer's memory?". In the context of the post, it meant "how to save a pdf file on your computer", because the bonus was a pdf (.pdf) file.

Consider 3 ways to save files to your computer.

These methods can be applicable not only to PDF files, but also to other formats. Before saving, let's try to open the file, because why save a "pig in a poke" on your computer?

Let's start, as they say, from the stove. From the File menu.

What is the File menu

The main operations that can be done with any file include:

  • create (file)
  • open file),
  • save file),
  • save (file) as.

These options, as a rule, are always present in any program that is designed to work with files. For example, text editor designed to work with plain text files.

So in Notepad you can:

  • Create new text file,
  • open an existing text file,
  • save the text file under the old name in the old location, or
  • save as - this option allows you to save the file with a new or old name in a new or old location.

There are programs designed to work with graphic files, audio, video files, etc. And in each of these programs, you can create a file, open and save it on your computer.

For the convenience of users, such common options for any files as

  • Create,
  • Open,
  • Save file,

in almost all programs are located in the File menu (or on English language for English programs: File).

This menu is usually located in the upper left corner of the window of the corresponding program (below the number 1 in Fig. 1).

How to open a pdf file

To open a .pdf file, you need to double-click on the file icon with the left mouse button, after which you can see which program on your computer will open this file.

If, when you try to open a PDF file, you see abracadabra, then most likely this means that a program that can open the PDF format is NOT installed on your computer.
