Samsung Galaxy Premier - Specifications. Premier aerosol gun Shooting process, personal impressions

Nowadays, you think about self-defense when you return home alone late at night - you never know what kind of “pleasant” meeting awaits around the next corner. For such cases, it’s a good idea to have something with you that will repel the intended enemy. The current method of self-defense is an aerosol pistol of the Premier model. The release is carried out by the “A+A” campaign.

History of creation

There are no pitfalls or a riddle shrouded in mystery when creating an aerosol gun. The idea of creating a pistol originated as a reaction to the increase in social aggressiveness of society, an increase in the number of criminal situations, and as a model that replaced an outdated model, filling a new advanced niche in self-defense methods.

Description

One of the special features is that this is the first electric trigger type aerosol in Russia. Silent shot and no recoil to the handle, resulting in low load on the Premier's design, reduced wear and low probability of breakage provided by the electronic trigger. The cartridge is activated by applying an electric discharge to it, which is produced by a compact CR2 battery located in the handle of the device. On average, the battery lasts for 800 shots, changing is quite easy - to do this, unscrew the cover. The uniqueness of this pistol is 18 mm cartridges with an electric detonator, which contain 4 cm3 of irritant! But it is also worth taking into account the fact that no other supplies are suitable for it - there are simply no other models of trigger BAMs (as pistol cartridges are called). This is an excellent argument in a battle with an unequal opponent who is superior to you or a pack of vicious dogs.

Premier device and storage conditions

This is a clip with loaded ammunition, which fits quite tightly into the body and is therefore equipped in advance. It is inserted with a slight movement from the front of the unit. To remove it, simply press the locking button located at the top of the device. The front sight is cast together with the body and therefore cannot be adjusted. When the handle is not fully pressed, the laser aiming device, which is located in front of the Premier, is triggered. All devices are powered by a battery, which is changed roughly once a year. It is covered with a plug with two screws; they are opened when it is necessary to replace the battery itself.

There are no special storage conditions as such, but there is a set of small rules that are recommended to be followed:

  1. the best place to carry it is a specialized holster on the belt;
  2. should not be carried with objects that can cause mechanical damage to the pistol;
  3. lubrication of the gun can be carried out by experts and during the specified periods, no more than once a year - one and a half;
  4. Store at home when not needed, in a cool, dry place, naturally without children having access to the aerosol gun.

Characteristics

The following are the main performance characteristics:

  • device dimensions 13.8/11.8/3.5 cm;
  • number of charges 2 pcs in the magazine;
  • battery type CR2;
  • projectile type BAM-OS.000 18x55;
  • number of guaranteed shots 1000;
  • firing range 3-7 meters;
  • operation at temperatures from -15 to +40.

The characteristics of this baby are truly impressive - even a strong wind will not prevent you from hitting a target measuring only 25 by 35 cm from 5 meters. The “A + A” campaign is the leader in range among aerosol pistols, analogues behave more modestly, but they also claim a maximum range of 7 meters is slightly too high.

Advantages and disadvantages

The advantages of Premier include ease of use. We press the trigger - it fires, the upper ammunition is activated, pressing the trigger again activates the lower ammunition, after which it is necessary to reload the pistol - what could be simpler? The original design and high-quality ammunition never fail, and this is so important in a stressful situation. The autonomy of the hardware barrels will eliminate the slightest mistake, and in the event of a misfire with the first ammunition, it will be possible to use a second charge. To summarize, the device deserves the highest score and is a leader in the self-defense weapons market, setting a high bar for competitors.

To be fair, it is also worth noting the disadvantages of this model:

  • lack of fuse;
  • the nominal thickness will not allow it to be hidden in plain sight;
  • it takes time to aim and pull the trigger, which may not be enough in a stressful situation if the pistol is, for example, not in a belt case;
  • quite small for a large male grip, which causes some discomfort;
  • the maximum operating temperature is +40, which is fraught with leakage of the Premiere contents in hot summer weather.

Modifications

The market is full of modifications of the aerosol pistol, among which it is worth highlighting the Premier-2 and Premier-4, the main difference is in the amount of ammunition in the clip. Accordingly, it is equal to 2 or 4 charges of irritant. But there are also craftsmen who are trying to do tuning of this device– which is fraught with problems with the law. It doesn’t take much effort to convert it into a traumatic one; you just need to find some traumatic cartridges and carry out a couple of simple manipulations. But why remake an already excellent self-defense tool, and not legally? This is a personal matter for everyone and variations on this theme are discussed on the Internet.

Conclusion

As we see, there are many positive aspects in this means self-defense and they exceed the negative aspects. It is also worth considering modification options for greater efficiency. It is also important to remember that the effect of a surprise device does not occur immediately, but within 5-10 seconds, so take into account in advance the subtleties of using this small but effective means of surprise, which will put your opponent in an awkward position. Take care of your life, it is one and we manage it ourselves, without leaving it to the mercy of fate and chance.

    Large screen, good screen (does not fade in the sun), quite fast, despite the characteristics, loud, excellent camera, lots of memory. Plus I also inserted my old 2 gig memory card. Now I have 13 gigs. I don’t know how it is for anyone, but this is beyond me! Samsung claimed that: This is a premium smartphone at an affordable price. And they lived up to their words.

    Bright screen, thin, on Android

    Good performance, if you don’t chase the “parrots” (enough for intensive use of various non-game applications, although they are also fine) + excellent screen. Some may think that auto-adjusting the brightness makes it look gray, but we can read it quite well on the street) + responsive sensor + optimal screen size - surfing is simply excellent + build quality * let's add this as a plus: camera. The sensor is fast, the quality is adequate, and for those who need something more, they have come up with mirrorless cameras and hybrid cameras for you.

    Beautiful design, fits well in the hand, very fast, excellent display (rich colors), user-friendly interface. A decent battery compared to other brothers, although we thought the opposite for the first 2.5 months of use.

    Decent battery Convenient and fast work with the Internet No (ttt) glitches so far Excellent connection Simply beautiful

    1. Size. Probably the latest size that can still be used with one hand. Galaxy S3 is already too much for me. 2. Screen. Good, bright, non-irritating color rendering. At half brightness it is quite comfortable to use. 3. Camera. The quality is not inferior to either the Galaxy S3 or the Galaxy Note 2 4. Speaker. Very loud. The sound is pretty clear. Not crushed like many other phones. In general, it’s not a tweeter, but something close to laptop speakers. 5. Battery. Lasts two to three times longer than Galaxy S2, HTC Sensation, Sensation XL. Longer than Galaxy S3. 6. Speed of work. It doesn't lag anything. The interface, tabs, and programs open very quickly.

    Excellent screen (colors and contrast, resolution, work in the sun, oleophobic coating, sensitivity), design (among all Samsung Galaxy, it is perhaps the most pleasant, especially in gray), hardware Home button, power button on the side, “invisible” Menu buttons and Back, not as healthy as the Galaxy S3 and not as plastic in appearance, sufficient performance, internal memory enough for all programs, battery life will last for a day even with heavy loads(I don’t play games, however), a relatively good headset included, compatible with headsets from other manufacturers, good sound in headphones, excellent GPS: searching for satellites on the street - 7 seconds, OTG support (you can connect flash drives and other accessories), excellent camera and a bright flashlight.

    I liked everything, it’s a great phone without it :-)

    Design (more neat and beautiful than the flagship GS3) + Screen (I don’t know if it’s worth Gorilla Glass or not, the screen is quite resistant to damage. I really like the sensor - smooth, responds instantly) + Speed (it’s convenient to use the Internet, applications work quickly) + Build quality (the cover, although a little thin, fits like a glove, which is good, because with my previous Galaxy Ace Plus I had this big problems) + Availability of various organizers and S Memo (very convenient) + Quality of photography, video and images (not a bit inferior to iPhone 3 and other 8 megapixels, and the images are bright and juicy) + New Android 4.1 platform + Dimensions (ideal for viewing video, Internet surfing, games, etc. Thin. Who cares about this - the case solves all problems. It won't fit in your jeans pocket

    Not found. Except one. Well, this is of course nitpicking, but if you surf the Internet for a long time, the phone starts to heat up in the camera area on the back and in the same area only on the front. It doesn't cause me any discomfort, but still.

    2 years ago 0

    The screen burns out. After a few months, there were traces from the desktop, which are very visible on the white, you won’t find covers or films anywhere

    2 years ago 0

    There is a gloss on the back cover, but the plastic is of high quality (in a month in the bag - 0 scratches)
    - features migrated from SIII - most of them are not needed. Siri's analogue only works in English, and even then it's disgusting.

    The rest is cons.

    New price, as always!

    2 years ago 0

    Maybe I’m just not used to it yet, but on the old Samsung Duos it was much easier to select a number and call it. I found the case only in 1 place - the same place as the phone. I had to go there twice, but who knew that most stores not only don’t have covers for the Premiere, but don’t even know about its (Premier) existence.

    1. Some flagship features are cut off in the stock firmware. Some camera parameters are missing, there are no screen color settings and some other little things.
    2. There is no LED indicator for missed messages.
    3. TouchWiz. You can, of course, accuse me of taste, but the shell Samsung smartphones wretched. The experience of working with HTC is telling. You can say as much as you like that Android allows you to customize everything, but it’s nice to get a beautiful interface out of the box. And no one has yet been able to properly imitate HTC widgets. Hours don't count.
    4. PCT price. On the gray market it would probably cost about 14 thousand, since S3 can be purchased for 16.
    5. Lack of accessories. I hope it's temporary.

    2 years ago 0

    There are few accessories, an undeveloped community (lack of alternative firmware, this is important to some), sometimes the light sensor glitches or slows down, even at minimum brightness the screen is too bright in the dark.
    It’s still difficult to control with one hand - it’s a little big (although I have a rather big hand), the ringing sound is hard to hear if the phone is lying on a soft surface; For purely marketing purposes, some functionality of the Galaxy S3 was cut, namely HDR photos and screen filters. In the standard SMS application, delivery notifications arrive like regular messages in the notification panel - each time you have to manually remove them; After smartphones from other manufacturers, the Menu and Back buttons are mixed up - three weeks with the device, I’m still confused. When you work with your phone a lot, back cover in the area l

    I did not notice

    Sometimes games crash
    - Brightness (in bright sunshine the average brightness is not enough and you have to turn it up to maximum)
    - It was difficult to find a case in a regular store, as well as a film (in the end I had to buy an ibox for the GS3. It fits perfectly, only the cutout for the flash is in a different place)

Among photographers - both novice amateurs and experienced professionals - there are two polar views on the possibility of working with cameras produced by unfamiliar brands. For some, this is knowledge truly confirmed by practice, for others it is a conviction gleaned as a result of “kitchen” disputes. In the latter case, sometimes such amateurish judgments are encountered that it becomes funny when, for example, an opponent tries to convince of the “weight” of a particular brand in the digital photo market based on the authority of the same company in the market of televisions, vacuum cleaners or MP3 players. Considering in advance any camera from this brand to be super-successful, such a “connoisseur” pouts his lips disdainfully when he hears about some device unfamiliar to him from Rollei or Minox. Not to mention brands of Taiwanese origin.

There is no doubt that a brand that has been skillfully promoted or has earned a reputation over years of impeccable work is worth a lot. However, it is definitely worth remembering a couple of modern economic realities. Firstly, the “other side of the coin” for a well-promoted brand is a certain “advertising markup” on the cost of the device, no matter how ideal it is. Secondly, for a long time now, many cameras - especially most of the lower and mid-price ranges - have been manufactured to OEM orders in Taiwan or South Korea. As a result, on the shelves you can often find two completely identical mainstream cameras with a price difference of up to a couple of hundred dollars, differing, ultimately, only in labeling and cost, and sometimes in the level of service and warranty.

I am not at all going to convince anyone today of entrenched stereotypes, I’ll just tell you about one 6-megapixel digital camera DC-6330 that I really liked, produced by Premier, a little-known company on the digital camera market. Here are its key characteristics: 6-megapixel CCD matrix, 2-inch LCD screen, a set of manual settings, lens with 3x optical zoom, lithium-ion battery. Do you think it is possible to buy such a device for about $350? It turns out that yes, if we are talking about the DC-6330, and definitely no, if we are talking about a new camera from any well-known brand.

So, let’s ask ourselves the peculiar question of the day: can a camera with the above characteristics and such a low price be really successful and practical. And, puzzled by the process of testing the device, we are simultaneously looking for the answer to this question.

This is not to say that the Premier brand is completely unknown to photo enthusiasts. For quite a long time (since 1983), the company Premier Image Technology Corporation (owner of Hong Kong-based A Force Technology Ltd.) has been producing various film soap dishes in the lower and middle price ranges - both under its own brand and for OEM orders of quite famous brands. Having started producing digital cameras several years ago, Premier Image quickly went through the period of 1.3-megapixel - 2-megapixel “kindergarten” and energetically mastered the production of fairly modern 3-megapixel - 6-megapixel devices.

All this is described on the official English-language website of the company, although I preferred its Chinese-language version as it is more detailed (no surprise, because the domestic Chinese market, in which, apparently, Premier Image Technology operates very successfully, is simply bottomless compared to ours). It was there that we managed to discover the DC-6330 device, however, in its “Asian version” DC-S6 (the only difference is in the name).

Experienced digital camera users who have already handled several models from different manufacturers, will probably be quite surprised by the similarity of some design and control elements of the DC-6330 with lines of devices from more established digital photo manufacturers. Well, I won’t be surprised if sooner or later the OEM/ODM relationship between these companies becomes clear; now it’s not uncommon when, for example, some well-known brand leaves only expensive D-SLR cameras for independent “home” production.

Equipment

The DC-6330 camera is equipped with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, a power supply, a USB cable for connecting to a PC, an AV cable for connecting to the video input of a TV or tuner, a strap for carrying the camera on your wrist, detailed instructions, a CD with software. It is pleasant to note that the kit includes a comfortable suede case for the device, as well as a detailed electronic version of the user manual in Russian.

Stated characteristics

The Premier DC-6330 camera is an inexpensive 6-megapixel digital camera of a fairly compact size, with a set of manual settings, including shutter speed and aperture priorities. It can't be said that strong point This camera is used for shooting video, but when used for its intended purpose - for taking photos in JPEG formats and TIFF - an amateur with an above-average level of training can get many advantages by refusing to spend the above amount on a compact machine (you can’t buy anything else with such a matrix for this money) and giving preference to the Premier DC-6330.

The camera supports “classic” Secure Digital cards; there is no built-in memory in the device. Now details about the tactical and technical characteristics of the Premier DC-6330:

Device design

The device is very compact and easy to use; most of the controls are laid out in such a way that after a minimum of time spent getting acquainted with them, settings are carried out quickly and intuitively.

The appearance of the front panel of the camera is more than typical for devices of this class: an optical viewfinder eye, an autofocus illuminator lamp, a flash, and underneath there is a retractable lens. This device does not have a connector for an external flash.

The back side of the camera at the top is equipped with a viewfinder eye with a diopter adjustment wheel and two LEDs indicating autofocus and flash readiness. The device’s large and very informative LCD monitor is very convenient when shooting and is a great help when viewing finished material.

On the left side of the screen are the three most commonly used buttons: menu, file delete and display mode. To control the zoom, the device uses a regular 2-position button, under it there is a decorative grille that hides the speaker, below there is a 4-position joystick with a central button, through which you can navigate the menu, as well as quickly adjust the mode (exposure compensation, macro mode, flash, timer).

Of particular note is the control wheel located on the side surface and, depending on the mode, serves to adjust shutter speed, aperture, exposure compensation or quickly view a sequence of captured frames. A convenient thing inherent in many digital cameras in the higher price range with manual settings.

Unfortunately, the device does not provide manual focusing, however, to assist the user, typical portrait shooting settings are provided on the top control dial for shooting, viewing and menu modes. In addition, on the top of the camera body there is a switch, a camera operation indicator and a built-in microphone.

The bottom view does not need detailed comments - there is a thread for a tripod and a battery compartment combined with a slot for flash cards.

One of the side surfaces of the camera carries all the interface connectors - power and a combined USB/AV port. There are no special covers for these connectors, so it is, of course, better to carry the device in a case.

Menu

The DC-6330 camera settings menu has an easy-to-navigate layout of sections and requires a minimum of time for detailed familiarization. Of course, not all possible settings screenshots are shown here, only the most interesting ones.

As you can see, the display screen, both in shooting mode and in playback mode, allows you to monitor everything necessary settings and change them if necessary. It is very convenient to use the camera when shooting in shutter priority or aperture priority mode, when information about changes is immediately reflected on the screen. Despite the rich selection of interface languages, the Russian firmware was not yet included in the camera sample provided for testing, however, as it turned out, it has now already been released and is available both in retail cameras and for self-flashing. However, I don’t think that even without this, the process of “initiation into the symbolism of pictograms” with the help of detailed Russian-language instructions will take much time.

The shooting process, personal impressions

The question of whether the area of a 1/1.8-inch CCD matrix is enough for high-quality shooting with a resolution of 6 megapixels (and even more so, 7 megapixels, as in the latest cameras from some manufacturers) is, of course, controversial, and is still open. No one argues that with sufficient lighting you can take fairly decent pictures, but at high ISO settings the work is in any case limited by strong noise. Apparently, this is why the developers of the DC-6330 camera did not introduce the ISO 400 mode, which is ridiculous for such devices, since even at ISO 200 it is difficult for me to remember a case of good pictures, except perhaps in night mode at decent shutter speeds. The TIFF recording format available in this camera for maximum resolution is a great help. This, of course, is not RAW, which allows you to “extract” exactly what the matrix “saw,” however, in some cases it is much more useful than JPEG, even in the best of the three compression modes offered.

The autofocus quality of the DC-6330 camera was consistently excellent. I don’t know why, either the experience of using similar cameras with manual settings had an effect, or the device itself “disposes” to quick learning, but in all cases of shooting, quickly combining modes and alternately switching from automatic to manual modes, I was consistently able to get great photos. I especially recommend the automatic white balance mode, because, to the envy of more advanced devices, it never made a mistake even when shooting indoors with incandescent lighting in combination with sunlight.

I can’t say that I especially liked the video shooting mode, because the maximum resolution of this device, 320 x 240 @ 30 fps, will satisfy few people nowadays. However, an approximate comparison of video quality with the results of other devices in this mode will certainly allow us to call the DC-6330's shooting results typical. The mode for recording voice comments is also interesting - up to 30 seconds. Fans of time-lapse photography will appreciate the photography mode, which is quite rare for cameras of this class, at intervals of 1, 3, 10 or 60 minutes (up to 99 frames). Let me also mention that the camera supports the much-loved function of imprinting the date on a photo.

conclusions

With enviable regularity, topics like “help me choose an inexpensive device with maximum settings”, and, as a rule, a price range of $300 plus/minus a hundred is indicated. No one argues that by adding another 200 × 300 dollars to this amount, you can buy a digital camera with an interesting combination of settings, dimensions and weight. As for the above-mentioned amount, it is not always possible to find a device for it, at least powered by a lithium-ion battery, and not from a finger battery, let alone advanced “features”. For those who do not suffer much from snobbery towards little-known brands, choosing the Premier DC-6330, especially as their first digital device, could be an excellent option: for a fairly reasonable price you get a compact one (for carrying in your pocket, not case/bag), a lightweight camera with a large sensor, the ability to practice learning how to work with manual settings, plus the presence of all other functions typical for cameras of this class.

I would like to call the Premier DC-6330 camera a device for above-average beginners who want to economically acquire a digital camera with a good set of settings. This device could also be quite useful to the owner of a digital SLR as a compact option for an additional camera for everyday shooting. In any case, the characteristics and capabilities of the Premier DC-6330 perfectly correspond to its price, and which brand to choose is, of course, up to you...

General characteristics

Type

Deciding on the type of device (phone or smartphone?) is quite simple. If you need a simple and inexpensive device for calls and SMS, it is recommended to choose a telephone. A smartphone is more expensive, but it offers a wide variety of options: games, videos, the Internet, thousands of programs for all occasions. However, its battery life is significantly less than that of a regular phone.
