Mobile ticket from Beeline. Questions about the Mobile Ticket service

Yesterday I saw this information desk in the metro. This is an information desk advertising the new ability to pay for travel on the Moscow metro using NFC. metro station "Aviamotornaya"

Nobody pays attention to the counter. A few more photos further.

Well, this is so, to understand the environment

The mobile NFC solution for the Moscow metro and surface urban transport is now operational for Big Three subscribers

From September 4, it will be possible to pay for travel on the Moscow metro using mobile phone appeared to subscribers of MegaFon, Beeline and MTS.
The Mobile Ticket solution was developed jointly by the metro, the Moscow Department of Transport and the country's three leading mobile operators.

The solution is built in SIM-centric ideology and format. Using the example of MegaFon subscribers, the following scheme is proposed for users (absolutely the same for all operators).

The subscriber must have mobile device with NFC functionality, into which you need to install a special UICC SIM card, on which the Troika transport application is pre-recorded. The SIM card is issued free of charge from MegaFon Retail stores. After installing a SIM card into the device, the subscriber receives an SMS with a request for consent to connect to the Mobile Ticket service.

After confirmation of the subscriber, the Troika virtual card emulated on the SIM card is topped up from his mobile personal account in the amount of 150 rubles. No commission is charged. Thus, the user’s device has two accounts - a personal subscriber account and an account for the Troika transport application, with the first serving as a source of replenishment for the second.

Travel money is debited from the transport application account when you bring it to the reader at the turnstile. In this case, NFC must be activated. You can touch your phone with the screen turned off - the debit will happen from the desired account automatically. As they promise mobile operators, even a discharged (turned off) phone will have enough charge to pay for one trip.

Travel prices are absolutely similar to the “Electronic Wallet” and “90 Minutes” tariffs (the user switches to this tariff, as with a regular card, automatically) on the Troika card. In the future, all operators will implement the ability to record all tariffs of the current Troika tariff menu on SIM cards.

An important feature of the service: by default, all subscribers are connected to the service of automatic replenishment of the transport application account up to the specified amount (150 rubles) when the balance is reduced to 90 rubles. (debits are made from the subscriber’s personal account). You can also top up your Troika mobile account manually (using a payment to a short number), and disable auto-topping (in the Mobile Ticket service menu on your smartphone).

The solution is implemented on the Breeze Transport technology platform developed by Breeze Technologies. The editors of the information portal PLUSworld.ru contacted With general director Breeze Technologies LLC by Pavel Vetosh. He, in particular, emphasized that this solution is a 100% domestic development and was carried out entirely by the company’s specialists.

Answering a question from PLUSworld.ru correspondents about how long it took to develop and implement the Mobile Ticket service in Moscow and what pitfalls the developer had to face, P. Vetosh said: “As an integrator of the service, the Breeze Technologies company had to set up interaction with the transport transaction processing center (TCP) of the Moscow Metro, the electronic money operator NPO MOBI.Money LLC, three telecom operators, test the processing and generation of SMS messages about payments, and ensure the service is operational 24/7. This all took more than a year. The actual development of the transport application for SIM cards and the adaptation of the Breeze Transport platform to customer requirements took several months. As for the pitfalls, at the testing stage of the system one of the most difficult tasks was a solution to the problem of simultaneous replenishment and debiting from the “Mobile Ticket”: the launch of an auto-replenishment service at the moment of passing through the turnstile. It was necessary to technologically separate the two operations in order to eliminate errors and problems in the operation of the service in such cases."

A new service has started operating in the Moscow subway - “Mobile Ticket”. Now you can pay for travel on the metro or ground transport by placing a mobile phone at the turnstile, which either supports NFC technology- Near Field Communications (near field communication) or an NFC antenna is inserted into it.

WHAT DO YOU NEED. New SIM card compatible with NFC. You can exchange it for an old one for free at your operator's mobile phone store. All new SIM cards support 4G. Phone with pre-installed NFC modules. To find out whether your phone supports NFC, look at the device menu: Settings -> Wireless networks -> NFC.

If the phone does not have built-in NFC support, then you need to not only exchange the SIM card, but also buy an additional NFC antenna, which synchronizes with the phone SIM card using radio waves.

This can be a thin rectangle with sides of 2 and 3 centimeters. It can be installed between the cover and the battery.

For models that do not have a removable back panel, you will need a remote antenna. This can be a small (up to 3.5 cm) rectangular card, which can easily be hidden in a phone case, or a small circle, up to 3 cm in diameter, which is attached to the back panel due to its adhesive surface.

The cost of such an antenna ranges from 50 rubles. However, it turned out to be difficult to purchase such an antenna in Moscow. The My District correspondent visited several communication stores of MTS, Megafon and Beeline. None of them had a remote module for sale.

“The Beeline company decided not to produce remote NFC modules at all, since the first experience of using them as part of a pilot in Kazan showed that they were not in demand by customers. Moreover, the remote modules did not work equally stably with all phone models,” Ekaterina Popova, head of PR for the Moscow region of VimpelCom, commented on the situation to My District.

The help desks of MTS and Megafon advised me to contact the company's head offices to purchase antennas. MTS - Novy Arbat, 15; Megafon - Kozhevnicheskaya, 14.

HOW IT WORKS. After a new SIM card is inserted into the phone, the SIM menu should be updated in the phone: the “Mobile ticket” line will appear. It needs to be activated. WITH short number“3210” you will receive an SMS with connection instructions.

After activating the service, 150 rubles will be debited from your mobile phone account. This money will be credited to your Mobile Ticket account.

After this you need to enable NFC function on your phone and attach it to the turnstile. Phones with a remote antenna can simply be attached to the turnstile; nothing else needs to be turned on.

After the account reaches 90 rubles, it will automatically be replenished to 150 rubles.

If the phone is turned off, if, for example, the battery is dead, it will be impossible to pay for travel.

How much does a trip with a Mobile Ticket cost?

Metro - 30 rubles

Ground transport - 29 rubles

Metro + unlimited number of trips by ground transport for 90 minutes - 46 rubles

It would seem that quite recently we began to more or less get used to the ability to pay for purchases by bank card, just by touching the terminal, using PayPass technology, we are presented with a new service - paying for travel on public transport using your mobile phone.

All this can be achieved using the innovative NFC (Near Field Communication) technology - the technology of “near field communication”, high-frequency wireless communication for exchanging data between devices at a distance of several centimeters. To pay, all you need to do is point your phone at the terminal, and the money will be automatically debited from your account.

Now, using this technology in Moscow, you can only pay for travel on public transport in the capital. The innovative service “Mobile ticket “Troika”” is provided by the telecom operator MTS. It allows you to pay for travel on buses, trams, trolleybuses, the Moscow metro and Aeroexpress trains directly from your smartphone or a simple mobile phone.

The name of the new service makes it clear that it resembles the ability to pay for trips with a Troika card. The only difference is that now you don’t have to constantly top up your account. When you present a phone with a SIM card from MTS, money for the trip (at Troika card rates) will be debited from your mobile account.

You can connect to the service in all communication shops of the telecom operator in Moscow, where they will replace your regular SIM card for free with an NFC SIM card with the “Troika Mobile Ticket” card recorded on it as an application. However, the phone number does not change.

The advantage of the new service is not even that you can pay for travel by phone. The main convenience of the “Troika Mobile Ticket” for the user is that the ticket balance is always automatically topped up from a mobile phone account or manually with the required amount using an SMS command. This solution insures the passenger against the situation of a lack of funds on the transport card, freeing him from the need to stand in line at the ticket office or purchase one-time passes from the driver for cash.

There is a positive moment for carriers as well. This technology will help reduce queues at public transport ticket offices and save money on cash circulation and issuing travel tickets.

But there are also disadvantages. The fact is that the latest technology Not all modern phones support it. For example, the most popular iPhone models in Russia so far, 4 and 5, will not be able to pay for travel on the metro. The function is available only to iPhone 6 owners. In total, there are now more than 60 phone models on our market that support the innovation. This includes the entire Galaxy line from Samsung, Lumia from Nokia, and even Russian YotaPhone smartphones.

However, if you do not own a smartphone that supports NFC technology, do not be upset right away. It is possible to connect a flexible NFC antenna to most smartphones and phones, which can be purchased at MTS stores for only 10 rubles when replacing a SIM card.

Recently operator cellular communications MTS gave us the opportunity to get acquainted with the company's new service, called "Mobile Ticket". This is a truly worthwhile service that will appeal to many users, because this solution makes it possible to forget about the fact that you need to carry change with you all the time in order to pay for public transport. I would also like to note that this project is a collaboration with the Big Three. The service is available to subscribers of MTS, Megafon and Beeline. So, let's take a closer look at this new product.

"Mobile ticket"

Access to the Mobile Ticket was opened in mid-2013, but even today few are familiar with this service. The “mobile ticket” made it possible to give a kind of impetus to development in the transport system. In order to have this convenient and original solution at your disposal, all you need to do is purchase a SIM card mobile operator MTS, which actually ensures the operation of this service. It should be noted that operation also requires a phone that supports NFC technology.

I would like to say right away that the “Mobile Ticket” service works in tandem with the “Transport Card” transport system and this is probably one of the main disadvantages. Because, due to the fact that the transport system today is in no hurry to develop its open spaces, Mobile Ticket cannot quickly develop in Russia, hence many different problems that MTS has already encountered more than once. In order to quickly implement this solution in all cities of our country, we first need to reach out to the transport system, which, for unknown reasons, is slow in its development, which prevents us from taking quick steps forward.

So, let's first understand NFC technology and payments. Surely many have noticed that sometimes you can see the NFC function in mobile phones, but not everyone understands why it is needed. This solution allows you to make contactless payments through a mobile device, but it is no secret that in Russia this technology is not yet highly developed, which is why there is such a knowledge gap. But everything is starting to change for the better, since recently MTS began to actively promote the NFC payment service, which allows you to pay for a certain service, for example, travel on public transport with just one touch of your phone. Of course, not all mobile phone models are equipped with an NFC function, but there are still enough of them and these are mainly devices from well-known companies such as Samsung, Sony, HTC, etc. But this does not mean that owners of regular smartphones that do not have this function , cannot use this solution. There is a special NFC antenna, which is installed separately. However, we will talk to you about them a little later. Concluding our acquaintance with NFC, we can say that this solution is a short-range wireless connection that ensures the exchange of data between devices at a certain distance, and to be precise, up to 4 cm. That is, in order to pay, for example, travel, All you need to do is present your phone to the reading device (subway turnstile, conductor terminal).

So what does the Mobile Ticket give us? Your phone gains control of an additional function that allows you to pay for travel on all types of public transport. However, this service currently operates only in the Republic of Tatarstan and Novosibirsk. Let's hope that soon this opportunity will appear for all residents of our country.

Many people are really tired of constantly having small change in their pockets, which is very annoying. “Mobile ticket” allows you to forget about these inconvenient moments of life, it is an opportunity to turn your mobile device into a travel ticket, and in order to maintain your account balance, you just need to top up your main SIM card account.

How to connect "Mobile ticket"?

In order to connect to this decision, just go to any of the MTS stores and purchase a new SIM card that supports the “Mobile Ticket”, however, it is also possible to replace the old SIM with a new one, and at the same time your phone number and balance remain unchanged.

Important

It should be noted that before connecting this service, you need to make sure that your phone really supports NFC technology; if it is turned off, then turn it on. I would also like to say that your balance before connecting should not be lower than 110 rubles, because after connecting an additional account will be opened, where 100 rubles will be transferred from your main account. This will be your travel limit.

After you connect the SIM card to your device, an SMS will be sent to your phone from number 1166 with a short description. If you agree with everything, then you should send an SMS with the text “1” to this number. Nothing will be charged from your account for sending a message, but, as we said just above, 100 rubles will be transferred to your Mobile Ticket account from your main account. Once the service is connected, you will receive an SMS notification.

In order to refuse or disable the "Mobile Ticket" service, just send an SMS with the text "0" to number 1166. It should also be noted that you can connect or disable this service using the "MTS service", the shortcut of which will automatically appear in your device after installing the SIM card. You can check your balance right there.

After making trips for an amount equal to or exceeding 50 rubles, a payment is automatically made from the personal subscriber account of your phone in the amount necessary and sufficient to reach the balance of funds deposited to pay for carrier services, the amount of 100 rubles. Until September 2013, no commission* will be charged for making a payment intended to pay for carrier services within the Mobile Ticket service. In this case, the minimum balance of your own funds on the phone balance must be at least 10 rubles.

Now let's look at the list of mobile phones that support NFC technology. Of course, it is not as large as we would like, but their number is constantly being replenished: MTC 965, MTC 975, Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy S IV, Samsung Galaxy Note II, Samsung Galaxy Note III, Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3, Samsung Galaxy Premier, HTC One, HTC One X, HTC Desire 500, HTC Desire 600, Sony Xperia V, Sony Xperia M, Sony Xperia L, Sony Xperia SP, Sony Xperia Z, Sony Xperia Z1, Sony Xperia ZR, Sony Xperia Z Ultra. Special attention should be paid to the fact that in the summer of 2014, according to information received from MTS, another 20 models of phones with NFC will be launched for sale, incl. and Nokia.

What should those who do not have NFC technology do? The answer is very simple - purchase a special antenna, which will cost its customers only 10 rubles. However, it should be noted that not all phones are able to support this solution. Some models simply cannot be compatible with this technology due to their design. Problems will also arise if back cover device is made of metal, or if the SIM card is inserted from the side (the exception list includes an apple iPhone smartphone). If you want to find out whether your device is compatible with an NFC antenna, you can contact MTS stores.

Features of the "Mobile Ticket" service

So, what can be noted here. This solution is truly a breakthrough in the transport sector. However, today there are a number of problems that still need to be improved. This is mainly due to the fact that the “Mobile Ticket” works in conjunction with the transport system “Transport Card”, that is, the other side is still not ready to switch to this technology, which causes a number of problems to arise. For example, if previously it was possible to purchase special NFC antennas in MTS stores, now they have been removed from sale for an indefinite period of time, because when paying in public transport, more money was debited from customers’ accounts than was necessary, but at the moment all this is being finalized . But it is not yet known when NFC antennas will go on sale again. Special attention should be paid to the fact that Mobile Ticket, as we have already said, works only in Novosibirsk and Tatarstan. Why are there so few cities, you ask? Unfortunately, in our country the transport infrastructure is not yet developed enough to introduce such technologies, but we are on the right path of development.

Personal experience

We managed to independently use the Mobile Ticket service from MTS. It can be noted that this decision really opened up a number of new opportunities for us and made life easier. On the buses, of course, they didn’t immediately get used to the fact that we were touching a smartphone to their reader rather than a card. However, some time later, having asked the conductors for their opinion, we learned that they often began to encounter such decisions. It remains to make sure that ordinary residents also get used to this service, because sometimes you can see surprise and curiosity in their eyes.

Results for the Mobile Ticket service

So, let's summarize the results of the Mobile Ticket service. This solution allows you to forget about having change in your pocket and makes paying for travel much easier. All this is contained in a mobile phone. Of course, today there are still a number of problems that need to be eliminated, but this service has already gained popularity in its circles. If at first the conductors were very surprised by this decision, now they treat the “Mobile Ticket” service as a matter of course. They even remain satisfied, because all this makes life easier not only for ordinary passengers, but also for the conductors, because they will not need to return change and try to tear off a ticket and hand it over in a crowd. We, in turn, give the “Mobile Ticket” service the “Megaobzor Editor’s Choice” medal and recommend it to everyone. The future is just around the corner, we need to develop. We can only offer you an excellent solution, and it’s up to you to decide whether to use it or not.
