How to make shiny letters. Gold Glitter Text in Adobe Photoshop. Glitter pattern

In this tutorial, we'll be creating realistic glitter text in Adobe Photoshop. Such effects are not necessarily complex and consist of many layer styles and different layers. Sometimes one layer and several styles are enough. This is just the case. First we will create a pattern, and then quickly and easily - an inscription on the background.

Materials for the lesson:

Step 1. Create a new document 600x380 pixels. Tool fill(Paint Bucket Tool) (G) fill the background layer with any color. Double click on this layer to unlock it. After that, double click on it again to open the style window. Apply Gradient overlay(Gradient overlay).

Result:

Step 2 Create (Hue/Saturation). Click on the black and white circle icon at the bottom of the layers palette to get a list of adjustment layers. Set it up like this:
Tone(hue): -7
Saturation(Saturation): -15
Brightness(Lightness): -6

Choose a tool Gradient(Gradient Tool) (G): Style (Style) – Radial (Radial), From the main to transparent (Foreground to Transparent). The main color is black. Fill the adjustment layer mask from the center as shown below.

Install Blend Mode(Blending Mode) adjustment layer Multiplication (Multiply) and Fill (Fill) by 50%.

Step 3 Name the first layer "Background". You should have two layers: “Background” and Hue / Saturation.
Create a new layer (Ctrl + Shift + N) on top of the two layers and name it "Bottom Light". Set the foreground color to #e3b042 and select the tool Gradient(Gradient Tool) (G) (same parameters). Make a fill as shown below.

Lower Opacity (Opacity) layer up to 70% and Fill (Fill) up to 55%.

Step 4 Set the fill color to #fdd135. Create a new layer (Ctrl + Shift + N) above "Bottom Light" and name it "Top Light 1". Make a gradient fill at the top of the canvas. Lower the Opacity to 70%.

Step 5 Create a new layer on top of the rest and name it "Top Light 2". Set the fill color to #fefbcd. Make a fill at the top of the canvas. But this time it should be bigger.

Step 6 Set the fill color to #fdfbf2. Create a new layer (Ctrl + Shift + N) and name it "Top Light Source". Make a short gradient fill at the top of the canvas. The color source will be in the top center.

Step 7 Select all layers and place them in a group (Ctrl + G). Name the group "Background". Download the Copasetic font. Create a new layer (Ctrl + Shift + N) and set the fill color to #d4ad74. Tool Horizontal text(Horizontal Type Tool) (T) write something. Download the pattern and import it into Photoshop. Double click on the text layer and apply these styles:

inner shadow:

inner glow:

Embossing:

Circuit:

Step 8 Create a new layer (Ctrl + Shift + N) under the text one and name it Text Gold Border. Make a copy of the text layer and create another layer above the copy of the text layer. Select both of these layers. By holding Ctrl you can select multiple layers in the layers palette.

Press Ctrl + E to merge them into one. This way you will get rid of the layer styles but keep their pixels. Apply a filter sharpness(Filter> Sharpen> Sharpen) (Filter> Sharpen> Sharpen). Lower the Opacity of the layer to 60%.

Step 9 Select the sharpened text layer and the original text layer and press Ctrl + E. Name the resulting layer Final Text Layer.
Choose a tool clarifier(Dodge Tool) (O) with 60 px soft edges. Range (Range) - Light (Highlights) and Exposure (Exposure) - 10%. Outline some areas on the text according to the light source.
Choose a tool Dimmer(Burn Tool) (O): Range (Range) - Shadows (Shadows) and Exposure (Exposure) - 10%. Outline the shadow areas of the text.

Step 10 Create a new layer (Ctrl + Shift + N) and place it under the Final Text Layer. Name the new layer "Gold Border". Set the fill color to #d4ad74 and make a selection on the Final Text Layer (hold Ctrl and click on the layer thumbnail).

Go to menu Edit > Stroke(Edit> Stroke): Position (Position) - Outside (Outside), Width (Width) - 5 pixels. Double click on the layer and apply these styles:

Embossing:

Result:

Step 11 Select the Final Text Layer again. Then, while holding Shift + Ctrl, click on the thumbnail of the stroke layer. The result is a selection of both layers.

Step 12 Create an adjustment layer Brightness/Contrast(Brightness/Contrast):
Brightness(Brightness): +15
Contrast(Contrast): +5

Select the Final Text Layer, Gold Border and Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer in the Layers Palette.

Step 13 Press Ctrl + E to merge three layers into one. Activate the tool free transform(Ctrl + T), right click on the canvas and select item Flip Vertical(Flip Vertical). Name the layer "Text Reflection" and place it below the text on the canvas.

Step 14 Tool free transform(Ctrl + T) shrink the layer Textreflection vertically.

Apply a filter sharpness(Filter> Sharpen> Sharpen) (Filter> Sharpen> Sharpen). Lower Opacity (Opacity) layer up to 45% and apply a layer mask (click on the mask icon at the bottom of the layers palette). Choose a tool Gradient(Gradient Tool): Style (Style) - Linear (Linear), From the main to transparent (Foreground to Transparent). The fill color is black. Fill the layer mask from bottom to top to get this reflection.

Step 15 Create a new layer (Ctrl + Shift + N), select brush of sparks and color #ffffd2 paint lights on the text. Name the layer “Sparkles” and apply the style External glow (Outer Glow).

Step 16 Create Hue/Saturation adjustment layer(Hue/Saturation) on top of the rest:
Tone(hue): 0
Saturation(Saturation): +10
Brightness(Lightness): 0

Create a new layer (Ctrl + Shift + N) and name it Bokeh 1. Select any bokeh brush and color #fcf9ea paint on the background. Set Blending Mode to Base lightening(Color Dodge) and Fill (Fill) by 30%.
Set the fill color to #e1af7d, create a new layer (Ctrl + Shift + N) and paint another “bokeh” effect (especially in the shadow areas). Use the same blending mode as for the first layer, and Fill (Fill) – 50%. Name the layer "Bokeh 2".

Step 17 Upload an image of diamonds. I recommend using diamonds with light pink tones. Cut the desired diamond into the main document and name the layer with it "Diamond". Make 6-7 copies. Change the size and slope of each. Some rotate horizontally. You should have an image like this:

Step 18 Choose a tool sharpness(Sharpen Tool) (O) with 60 px soft edges. Mode (Mode) - Normal (Normal), Intensity (Strength) - 25%. Outline the diamonds a bit. Then choose a tool Blur(Blur Tool) size 100 pixels with intensity 30%. Outline the bottom diamond as it is too close. Do the same with the far diamonds.
Now make a copy of each diamond that touches the surface with the tool free transform(Ctrl + T) flip them vertically. Place the copies under the original layers to get the reflection.

Step 19 Add a layer mask to the copy and select the tool Gradient(Gradient Tool) (G): Style (Style) – Linear (Linear), From the main to transparent (Foreground to Transparent). The fill color is black. Fill the reflection on the mask from bottom to top, as shown below. After that lower the Opacity of the layer to 75%.

Step 20 Merge all diamond layers into one (but not reflections) (Ctrl + E). Make a copy of the resulting layer and name it "Diamonds-motion blur". Apply a filter Motion blur(Filter> Blur> Motion Blur) (Filter> Blur> Motion Blur): Angle (Angle) - 90, Displacement (Distance) - 40. Raise the blurred layer a little so that the blur is visible only above the diamonds. Position the blur layer below the original diamond layer in the Layers Palette.

Lower the Fill layer to 25% and set the Blending Mode to Linear Dodge(Linear Dodge). Draw sparkles on some of the diamonds in the same way as on the text.

One of the trends of recent years is to organize themed wedding photography, using various accessories, including letters. With their help, you can mark the initials of the bride and groom, lay out words like traditional “love”, “wedding”, “just married”, as well as original wishes or comments.

Letters are made from a wide variety of materials: plywood, plastic, flowers, fabrics, etc. However, the simplest and most easily homemade bridal accessory is paper letters. It is enough to pick up thick cardboard for the base and any decorations (made of paper or other materials). One of the most spectacular and at the same time uncomplicated ways to design letters is sparkles. Today the wedding portal Svadbka.ws offers you a master class on making shiny letters for a photo shoot.

Materials and tools:

  • thick paper or cardboard;
  • glitter, foil or shiny design paper;
  • PVA glue;
  • scissors;
  • pencil;
  • hole puncher;
  • wire, wooden stick or thread;
  • paper tape.

Detailed instructions:

Sketch out the letter design. Transfer the enlarged drawing to cardboard and cut along the contour. If you feel that the paper is still thin, glue several patterns together to make the letter thicker and stronger.

If you are going to make a letter garland, make holes in the upper part of the letters with a hole punch (two per part, so that it is easier to thread the models on the thread, in addition, they will not rotate, but will be securely fixed on the thread).

Spread the letters with a fairly thick layer of glue. While it is still wet, sprinkle glitter on the surface of the parts. Instead of glitter, you can use foil or special design paper with a pattern. If it seems to you that the glitter is not enough, repeat the procedure on the dried first shiny layer. And remember, you first need to prepare the work area, otherwise then the sparkles will be on clothes, and on books, and on everything that was nearby.

Leave the letters to dry well. If after this the edges began to “wrap”, put the blanks under the press for a day (from books, for example).

Pass the thread through the holes, forming a garland of letters. The second option is to secure the stick or wire on the back with paper tape if you want to keep the initials in your hand. Another easy way to secure the letters is to attach them with paper clips or invisible hairpins with colored ribbon. Everything is ready!

Applications

Glitter letters will be a great accessory for a wedding photo shoot. The website www.site offers to make letters from different colors of sequins that correspond to the chosen basic colors of the celebration. In addition, letters made of special design paper with brilliant embossing or patterns look stylish.

Letters and inscriptions with glitter can be used in the design of the wedding as a whole. For example, in pre-wedding photography, to decorate bouquets on tables, buffet areas (with the inscription "love is sweet"). Shiny initials can be placed on tables or next to a wishlist.

Special effects can be used to cover up flaws in a poorly designed font, or, in this case, to emphasize a font that is already beautiful without any effects.

In this tutorial, I'll show you how to create a shiny embossed text effect in Photoshop using layer styles and a few tricks.

Final result:

Step 1

First, choose the glitter texture you are going to use. In this tutorial we are using the blue texture, which can be downloaded from the link at the beginning of this tutorial.

Open the glitter texture in Photoshop. Next, let's go Editing - Define Pattern(Edit - Define Pattern) and press the “OK” button. Close up image with glitter texture.

Step 2

Create a new 860 x 640 px working paper. Open the Grainy Paper texture. Move this texture to our working paper. Scale the texture up to about 2.300 px wide, and then hit the Enter button to apply the changes.

Step 3

Add text. Font size 150 px, font color #B3BEC1. Use any font you like. I used the Vanilla Daisy font.

Note: install all Vanilla Daisy font styles to get access to all additional characters.

Choose a font vanillaDaisySS00 as your main font. Don't forget to create a new layer for each individual word so you can move them individually.

Step 4

Now select the first letters in each word to change the font to one of the additional styles.

Use a font vanillaDaisySS04 for the first letter t, font vanillaDaisySS01 use for letter l, font vanillaDaisySS03 use for second letter t.

Select all layers with text, and then right-click on the selected layers and in the window that appears, select the option Convert to Smart Object(Convert to Smart Object). This will allow us to save the text as a template, so we can easily go back and change the text at any point in the lesson.

Step 5

Double click on the smart object layer to apply the layer style Embossing(Bevel and Emboss) with the following settings:

  • Method(technical): Rigidcutting(Chisel Hard)
  • Size(Size): 5
  • Uncheck the box global illumination( global light)
  • Circuit gloss(Gloss Contour): Doublering(Ring-double)
  • Injection(Angle): 120
  • Height(Altitude): 30
  • Check the box Smoothing( anti-aliased)
  • Backlight mode( highlight mode): Bright light(Vivid Light) Opacity(Opacity) 100%
  • Shadow mode(Shadow Mode)- Multiplication(multiply)- Opacity(Opacity) 50%

Step 6

Apply a layer style Circuit(Contour) with the following settings:

  • Circuit(Contour): Flipped overcone(cone-inverted)
  • Check the box Smoothing(anti-aliased)

Step 7

  • Pattern

Step 8

with the following settings:

  • Blend Mode( Blend Mode): Bright light(Vivid light)
  • Pattern(Pattern): Select the pattern you created in Step 1.
  • Scale(Scale): 10%

Step 9

  • Blend Mode( Blend Mode): Bright light(Vivid light)
  • Color(Color): #FFFFFF
  • Opacity( Opacity: 100%
  • Bias(Distance): 2
  • Size(Size): 2
  • Noise(Noise): 5

Step 10

Right-click on the layer with the smart object and in the window that appears, select the option Duplicate Layer(duplicate layer).

Right-click on the duplicate layer again and in the window that appears, select the option Clear Layer Styles(Clear Layer Style).

Position the duplicate layer below the original layer. Next, double click on the duplicate layer to apply the layer style. Shadow(Drop Shadow) with the following settings:

  • Blend Mode( Blend Mode): Multiplication(Multiply)
  • Color(Color): #000000
  • Opacity( Opacity: 20%
  • Uncheck the box global illumination( global light)
  • Injection(Angle): -45
  • Bias(Distance): 3
  • Size(Size): 8
  • Noise(Noise): 5

The result should be like the screenshot below. It is already close to the final result.

Step 11

Create a New Adjustment Layer Curves(Curves) on top of all other layers. Convert this adjustment layer into a clipping mask, for this, right-click on the adjustment layer and in the window that appears, select the option Create Clipping Mask(Create Clipping Mask), thus the correction adjustment layer Curves(Curves) will only affect the bottom layer.

Set the curve as shown in the screenshot below. For the lower left point, set the values: entrance(Input):0, Output(Output): 0. Set the midpoint to: entrance(Input): 125 Output(Output): 80. For the top right point, set the values: entrance(Input): 225 Output(Output): 255.

And we have completed the lesson! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.

Because Since we previously converted our text to a Smart Object, now you can simply double-click on the Smart Object's thumbnail in the Layers panel and edit the content at any time. By changing the contents of the same smart object layer, you will automatically update the duplicate layer, including additional effects such as layer style Shadow(Drop Shadow).

In this tutorial, we'll be creating a glittery pendant text in Photoshop.

In this tutorial, you'll learn how to use a combination of layer styles, textures, and shapes to create a vibrant, glittery pendant text effect in Adobe Photoshop.

Step 1.

Step 35

Use Move Tool) to position the shadow so that it falls according to the text. Change the blend mode of the shadow layer to Multiplication (Multiply) with Opacity (Opacity) 7%(or choose a value of your choice).

Step 36

For more 3D effect, you can slightly move the top rings relative to the bottom ones using Tool Move (Move Tool).

Step 37

In this tutorial, we adjusted the brightness of the satin texture, created several text layers, applied styles to them and got the main effect.
We then used the Ellipse Tool to create the rings for the chain and applied styles to them as well. Next, we copied the chain from another photo, desaturated it, styled it, and added it to the text. To finish off, we added shine and blurred the background.
