Method 1: Home Media Server

  1. Run the downloaded Home Media Server setup file. The integrity of the distribution will be checked automatically. In field "Catalog" you can specify the address of the directory where it will be unpacked. However, here you can leave the default value. In this case, just click "Run".
  2. The distribution kit will be unpacked to the specified directory and immediately after that the program installation window will open automatically. In the field group "Installation Directory" you can specify the disk partition and path to the folder where you want to install the program. By default, this is a separate subdirectory of the standard program installation directory on disk C. It is recommended that you do not change these settings unless absolutely necessary.   10. After that, the selected folder will be displayed in the list along with other directories. By clicking on the appropriate buttons, which will add or remove the green color, you can specify the type of content being distributed.
  11. If, on the contrary, you want to disable distribution in some directory, then in this case, select the appropriate folder and press the button "Delete".
  12. After that, a dialog box will open in which you should confirm your intention to delete the folder by clicking "Yes".
  13. The selected directory will be deleted. After you have configured all the folders that you intend to use for distribution and assigned a content type to them, click "Ready".

The default is the directory LG Smart Share, which is located in the parent folder LG Software, located in the standard directory for placing programs for Windows 7. This method is not suitable for everyone, only for those who have a more or less modern PC, because. on the PC, the process of encoding video "on the fly" is launched when viewing, and weak computers simply do not have time to process it without visible "freezing" of the video. With this method, rewind will not work, however, if you go to the transcoding folder (located in the same folder with the video file being opened) and then go to the folder with parts of the movie, you can select any piece of the file (intervals of 1 minute), at the end of the minute, another piece will not "loaded" taking a break in a couple of seconds, and everything is reproduced as it should be.

But I do not advise leaving the Philips device in the program settings, because. when viewing any video file (even one that went without problems), it will still be encoded and load the processor on the computer.

The "Transcoding" function provides for on-the-fly video transcoding, etc. if it is not possible to view it in normal mode (if your TV does not support any format or codec).
