Battery life

In this article, we'll take a look at the relatively inexpensive 13" Dell Inspiron 13 7000 Series 2-in-1 hybrid laptop/tablet. Let's clarify that this laptop was inexpensive before the collapse of the ruble, and today it can be called inexpensive only in comparison with other mobile solutions.

According to the information on the manufacturer's website, there are several possible configurations for the Dell Inspiron 13 7000 Series 2-in-1 laptop, which differ in processor type, memory size, screen resolution and storage capacity. In our case, we will talk about the younger model - Dell Inspiron 13 7347.

Completion and packaging

The Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop (like all Dell laptops) comes in a simple cardboard box with a handle. The delivery set is standard for Dell laptops. In addition to the laptop itself, the kit includes only a power adapter, a warranty card and a quick start guide.

So, the basis of the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop is a dual-core processor. This processor is clocked at 1.7 GHz and does not support Turbo Boost. Its L3 cache size is 3MB, and the calculated maximum power is 15W. The processor supports Hyper-Threading technology.

This processor integrates the HD Graphics 4400 graphics core with a base frequency of 200 MHz and a Turbo Boost frequency of 1.0 GHz.

Recall that Haswell U-series mobile processors are SiP (System-in-Package), that is, they combine in one package both the processor itself with the graphics core and the chipset.

According to information on, Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series laptops can also be equipped with a more powerful Intel Core i5-4210U processor.

No discrete graphics card is provided in this laptop, which is, in principle, quite typical for this class of devices.

The Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop comes with 4 GB of DDR3L-1600 memory. Moreover, the laptop itself has only one SO-DIMM slot for installing a memory module. In our case, a 4 GB SK HynixHMT451S6BFR8A-PB memory module was installed in the laptop. Memory, of course, worked in single-channel mode.

Note that Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series laptops can also be equipped with 8 GB of memory.

The storage subsystem in the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 is a single 500 GB (5400 RPM, SATA-II) Seagate ST500LT012-1DG142 HDD. Note that Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series laptops may have a different storage subsystem, but the drive itself is only an HDD with a capacity of up to 500 GB.

The communication capabilities of the laptop are determined by the presence of a wireless network adapter marked Dell Wireless 1708. This adapter supports 802.11b / g / n (2.4 GHz band) and has an integrated Bluetooth 4.0 module.

Note that in the top-end configuration of the Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series laptop, the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 adapter supporting 802.11a/b/g/n/ac standards can also be installed.

The audio subsystem of the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop is based on the Realtek ALC255 HDA codec. The laptop itself has two speakers. In addition, there is also a combined audio mini jack (microphone, headphones).

It remains to add that the laptop is equipped with a built-in HD (720p) webcam located above the laptop screen, as well as a non-removable battery with a capacity of 43 Wh.

In addition, we note that according to Dell's website, Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series laptops can be equipped with various LCD screens. In our case, the laptop had a 1366x768 IPS touchscreen, but a 1920x1080 touchscreen can also be installed.

Appearance and ergonomics of the case

First of all, we note that the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop does not belong to the category of ultrabooks, although in many respects it satisfies the specifications of an ultrabook. Indeed, it is very thin (19.4 mm), light (although there are no explicit weight restrictions in the ultrabook specification) and has a touch screen. Actually, by its concept, the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 is a classic ultrabook, but there is one small detail that does not allow it to be attributed to this category. The fact is that in custom ultrabooks, Intel wireless network adapters must be installed and Intel WiDi technology must be supported (this support is not possible without an Intel network adapter). However, this is not implemented in the Dell Inspiron 13 7347.

However, the fact that the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 does not belong to the category of ultrabooks in no way detracts from its merits. Moreover, the very concept of ultrabooks has already played its role in the market and is now no longer relevant.

The body of this laptop is completely plastic. It has a silver color under the metal, and the inner working surface is exactly the same as the outer surface of the case.

Of course, the plastic housing, painted in silver, has its drawbacks. Scratches appear quite quickly on such a case (especially if you carry it in a briefcase with a metal zipper). But, on the other hand, fingerprints do not remain visible on the surface of the case.

The traditional mirrored Dell logo is located in the center of the laptop lid. It should be noted that the laptop cover (actually, the screen) does not have sufficient rigidity and flexes strongly when you press it with the appearance of characteristic spots on the screen.

The system for attaching the laptop screen to the body consists of two hinges located at the bottom of the screen. Such a mounting system allows you to deflect the screen itself relative to the plane of the keyboard at an angle of 360 °, turning it into tablet mode. Moreover, when the angle between the plane of the keyboard and the screen exceeds 180°, the keys and touchpad are automatically blocked.

Actually, this is the hybridity of this device. Naturally, the possibility of opening the screen at an angle of up to 360 ° also provides for two intermediate modes, which are called "console" and "presentation". In general, everything is the same as in convertible Lenovo Yoga series laptops.

The hinge loop has a rather tight stroke, which allows you to fix the screen in any position, but there is also a very decent backlash of the screen. Moreover, the presence of such a backlash greatly complicates touch input in the "laptop" and "console" modes. In the "presentation" mode, when the screen rests on one side of the table, and the hinges are located on top, there is, of course, no backlash.

Note that the built-in position sensor in the laptop works flawlessly and when you change the "laptop" mode to "console", "presentation" or "tablet" mode, the screen image rotates properly.

Since the laptop screen is touch-sensitive, the screen frame and the screen itself form a single plane and are covered with glass, which creates the illusion of a frameless screen design.

On the top of the frame is a webcam, two microphones and a light sensor.

Naturally, if changes in screen brightness depending on ambient light are annoying, then the light sensor can be disabled in the power scheme settings.

There is a traditional Windows button at the center bottom of the screen, which is convenient to use in tablet mode.

Since this laptop has a tablet mode, all laptop control buttons are located on the side faces of the case.

On the left side of the case there are two USB 3.0 ports (one port with the function of charging mobile gadgets), a power connector, an HDMI connector, a combined mini jack audio connector (headphones, microphone) and a Kensington lock connector. In addition, there is also a miniature grill that covers the built-in speaker.

On the right side of the laptop case there is a USB 2.0 port connector, a memory card slot, a power button and a rocker-type button for volume control. In addition, here is another miniature grill that covers the second built-in speaker, and there is also a niche for a passive stylus.

The stylus, by the way, is very convenient to use. In general, it is better to work with the touch screen of the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop with a stylus. Firstly, the glossy screen coating will not be stained, and, secondly, it is simply more convenient and productive.

On the front rounded end of the laptop case there is only one miniature battery indicator.

Note that the rounded front end of the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop case is not only beautiful, but also very practical, because when working with a laptop, because you will not rub your palms in the wrist area on a sharp edge.

At the rear end of the laptop case there is only a ventilation grill for the laptop cooling system.

Speaking about the design of the case of the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop, one cannot fail to note the fact that it allows for easy disassembly. To do this, remove the back panel of the case by unscrewing 10 screws.

By removing the bottom panel, you can access almost all components of the laptop: memory, wireless module, storage, cooling system, etc.

Input Devices

Keyboard

The Dell Inspiron 13 7347 has an island-style keyboard with extended key spacing. The keyboard has a two-stage backlight. The keys on the keyboard are black and their size is 15×15 mm. The gap between the keys is 3 mm. The base under the keyboard is slightly recessed relative to the working surface, as a result of which the surface of the keys themselves and the working surface are in the same plane.

The symbols on the keys (including Russian letters) are white and clearly visible.

It should be noted that the base under the keyboard is quite rigid and when typing, it practically does not bend. The keys themselves are not very well spring-loaded and the pressing is not felt well. But the keys do not make any clicking sound. In principle, the keyboard is good, but could be better.

touchpad

The Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop uses a clickpad type touchpad. The dimensions of the working area are 105×65 mm, which is quite enough for comfortable work.

The touch surface of the clickpad is slightly recessed. This touchpad supports multi-touch function.

There are no complaints about the work of the touchpad. It has excellent sensitivity and no random triggering.

Sound path

As already noted, the audio subsystem of the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop is based on the Realtek ALC255 HD codec, and the laptop itself has two built-in speakers.

According to subjective feelings, the acoustics in this laptop is rather mediocre. The maximum volume level, perhaps, cannot be called sufficient (I would like more), but at the maximum volume level, no rattling is observed. Of course, there are no basses here, and when playing music tracks, the sound is unsaturated and has a slightly metallic tint. Therefore, it is better to use headphones to listen to music.

To evaluate the output sound path intended for connecting headphones or external acoustics, we resorted to instrumental testing using an external Creative E-MU 0204 USB sound card and the RightMark Audio Analyzer 6.3.0 utility. Testing was conducted for stereo mode, 24-bit/44.1 kHz.

According to the results of testing, the audio path in the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop was rated "Very Good".

The full report with the results of testing in the RMAA 6.3.0 program is placed on a separate page, a brief report is given below.

Screen

The Dell Inspiron 13 7347 uses a white LED backlit IPS panel. The diagonal screen size is 13.3 inches and the screen resolution is 1366×768. The screen has a glossy finish and is touch sensitive.

First of all, we note that the screen brightness is changed by changing the voltage level of the LED backlight, and not by pulse-width modulation. That is, the LCD matrix in this laptop does not flicker at any level of brightness.

According to the measurements, the maximum brightness of the screen on a white background is 260 cd/m², and the minimum brightness on a white background is 15.8 cd/m². At maximum screen brightness, the gamma value is 1.85.

The color gamut of the LCD screen in the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 is 58.2% sRGB and 40.6% Adobe RGB. Moreover, the color gamut is 58.9% of sRGB and 40.6% of Adobe RGB. In principle, this is a rather mediocre result for an IPS matrix.

Such a narrow color gamut is also due to not very high-quality filters. Firstly, light filters strongly mix the components to each other. So, green is strongly mixed into the spectrum of red, and blue is strongly mixed into the spectrum of green. Secondly, the red light filter highlights the maximum in the spectrum, which already belongs to the orange color (wavelength 590 nm, not 620 nm, as usual), which negatively affects the color gamut of the screen.

The color temperature of the LCD screen of the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop is very stable on the gray scale at approximately 6200K.

The stability of the color temperature is due to the fact that the primary colors are well balanced across the entire gray scale.

As for color accuracy (delta E), its value does not exceed 8, which is an acceptable result for this class of screens.

The viewing angles of the screen pleased. They are really very wide and when looking at the image at an angle, the brightness only slightly decreases, but the color is practically not distorted.

In general, we can say that the screen of the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop has its pluses, but there is also a minus. The downside is the narrow color gamut, and the pluses include wide viewing angles, stable color temperature and acceptable color accuracy.

Work under load and idle

In idle mode, as it should be, the processor frequency in the laptop is 800 MHz (naturally, we are talking about a balanced power consumption scheme), that is, there are no complaints about Intel SpeedStep technology. The processor temperature in this mode is 43°C.

When loading the processor with the Stress CPU test (AIDA64 Extreme Edition utility - system stability test), which uses integer calculations, the processor frequency is 1.7 GHz (recall that the Intel Core i3-4010U processor does not support Intel Turbo Boost mode). The processor temperature in this boot mode increases to 48 °C.

When the processor is loaded with the Stress FPU test, which uses floating point calculations and heats up the processor to a greater extent, the temperature of the processor cores increases to 59 ° C, and their frequency does not change and amounts to 1.7 GHz.

In the mode of simultaneous loading of both the processor cores (Stress FPU) and the graphics core (Stress GPU), the temperature of the processor cores increases to 65 °C. The frequency of the processor cores in this mode jumps from 1.1 GHz to 1.7 GHz.

Memory Subsystem and Drive Performance

According to the AIDA64 Cache & Memory Benchmark utility, the memory read speed is 11818 MB/s and the write speed is 11933 MB/s. For DDR3-1600 memory (peak bandwidth 12800 MB / s) in single-channel mode, these are quite typical indicators.

Now consider the results of synthetic tests of the data storage subsystem.

The ATTO Disk Benchmark utility determines the maximum sequential write and read speed at about 100 MB / s, which is quite typical for 2.5-inch laptop HDDs.

The CrystalDiskMark utility gives almost the same results for maximum sequential read and write speeds.

In addition, here are the results of testing with the HD Tune Pro v5.50 utility. Actually, they only confirm what was said above.

Noise level

The cooling system of the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop is a single cooler (radiator with a built-in fan), which is connected by a heat pipe to a heat sink plate that covers the processor.

Notebook Dell Inspiron 13 7347 can be classified as average in terms of noise.

According to our measurements, in idle mode the cooler fan does not rotate at all and the laptop does not make any noise.

With stress loading of the processor and video card cores, the noise level emitted by the laptop is only 29.5 dBA. This is a very low noise level that blends in with the natural background. And you can hear the laptop in its stressful loading mode only in a very quiet room.

In principle, this is a very good result. That is, this laptop is quite enough for a full day of work without recharging.

Performance study

To evaluate the performance of the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop, we used our laptop performance measurement methodology using iXBT Notebook Benchmark v.1.0 and iXBT Game Benchmark v.1.0 . Note that the laptop was tested on mains power and with a fully charged battery.

The results of testing in the iXBT Notebook Benchmark v.1.0 are shown in the table. In addition, for clarity, we have also added the test results of the HP Pavilion 13-a020nr x360 (K1Q28EA) laptop. We chose this laptop for comparison for the simple reason that HP Pavilion 13-a020nr x360 (K1Q28EA) can be considered as a competing solution. This is also a hybrid 13-inch laptop with a 360° opening screen with laptop, console, presentation and tablet modes. In addition, the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 and HP Pavilion 13-a020nr x360 (K1Q28EA) laptops have almost the same performance, although they are based on different platforms. So, HP Pavilion 13-a020nr x360 (K1Q28EA) is based on APU AMD A8-6410 (Beema).

In short, the results are as follows. In terms of integrated performance, the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop is inferior to our reference system based on the Intel Core i5-3317U processor by almost 40%. There are several reasons. Firstly, the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop uses a rather weak Intel Core i3-4010U processor, which, of course, cannot compete with the Core i5-3317U processor. Secondly, the SSD installed in our reference system has a significantly higher performance compared to the HDD installed in the Dell Inspiron 13 7347. Finally, thirdly, the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop has only 4 GB of DDR3 memory -1600, which operates in single-channel mode, while the reference system has 8 GB of memory, which operates in dual-channel mode.

But if we compare performance laptops Dell Inspiron 13 7347 and HP Pavilion 13-a020nr x360 (K1Q28EA), it turns out that they are almost the same. More specifically, Dell Inspiron 13 7347 based on Intel Core i3-4010U is 3% faster than HP Pavilion 13-a020nr x360 (K1Q28EA) based on AMD A8-6410 (Beema) APU.

In conclusion, consider the test result of the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop in games:

Recall that in games testing was carried out at a screen resolution of 1366 × 768.

Actually, only one thing can be said here: this is absolutely not a gaming laptop.

conclusions

So, let's summarize. Externally, the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 is a very stylish laptop. Thin, light, and even the screen opens 360 °. In general, it looks very elegant. In addition, this laptop has a good keyboard, a great touchpad, it has a very long battery life and it is very quiet. Also, the pluses of this model include the fact that you can very easily independently increase the amount of memory and change the HDD-drive.

On the other hand, no upgrade in this case will make this laptop truly productive. In terms of performance, the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 with an Intel Core i3-4010U processor can be classified as an entry-level solution, that is, it can only be used for the most basic tasks (office applications, Internet communication, watching videos, etc.).

In addition, we note that although formally the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 belongs to the category of transformer laptops, it is still a laptop with an additional option. Its use in tablet mode is inconvenient due to the fact that it is heavy and bulky for a tablet. Touch input in laptop and console modes is inconvenient even when using a stylus, as the screen simply wobbles. So the main mode of using the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 is exactly the laptop mode.

The screen in this laptop, as already noted, is not bad: good brightness, excellent viewing angles, stable color temperature. At the same time, the narrow color gamut does not allow us to recommend it for serious work with images. If we talk about the sound path, then listening to music through headphones is not satisfactory, but the built-in speakers are rather mediocre.

And the last thing worth mentioning is the plastic painted case. It looks stylish, but in terms of scratch resistance, it leaves much to be desired.

We will not write about the cost of the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop. We will not make comparisons in price with competing solutions. It's just that now, it seems, no one understands at what price it is necessary to sell. And the prices themselves change every day.

Optimization is the modification of a system to improve its efficiency. Transformers is an example of optimization in action. In fact, you get one device in your hands, but in fact - several. It is thanks to the 2-in-1 marketing chip and the really convenient form factor of turning a laptop into a tablet that transforming gadgets quickly captured the hearts of users. But how innocently everything once began - the developer of the Taiwanese company ASUS saw a Russian nesting doll! And now laptops are bent by everyone who can afford it. The American company Dell can still how! Therefore, from under her wing, an inexpensive, but very acrobatic Dell Inspiron 13 appeared.

Once the company showed us a very freaky device from the field of transformers - its display rotated in a frame. Like a plastic board in lecture halls. It looked a little more than strange, and I'm not at all sure that it was popular. And not so long ago, Dell released the Inspiron 13 - a classic in its purest form. The laptop turns ... turns ... into a tablet! Big, but still.

Dell Inspiron 13 Convertible 2-in-1 Video Review

Appearance and ergonomics

When you first see a laptop in a video, picture, or in the hands of another person, it seems outdated. Wide, massive, gray flat angular surface, mirror logo, no feeling of lightness and airiness. In the first second I met, I thought: “Well, what is it all about? Does anyone else release this? BUT! This is just the case when the device needs to be touched and examined carefully! Trust me, first impressions are deceiving. You touch it - and that's it, you already like it.

The whole secret is in soft-touch plastic, it covers the entire area of the laptop. And if from above it is good because it does not collect prints well (and if it did, then they are almost invisible), and grasping (it won’t slip even from the most awkward hands - it’s checked), then in the area under the arms it’s just a godsend. It feels like velvet has been laid under your palms. It is very convenient to work, you can not get up at least around the clock because of the computer. My laptop has lived for more than two weeks, and while there is no feeling that the coating has worn off, it is still pleasant to work. Well, to be completely honest, I like the way it shines. Not glamorous, but stylish.

The second nice feature is the flat sides and rounded front edges. This, firstly, looks stylish, and secondly, affects the convenience. The edges do not dig into the wrists, there is a comfortable slope. Right here from me is a big plus in the piggy bank.

From below, the cover, one might say, is two-stage, matte and pleasant to the touch, rests on 5 screws (do not touch 5 more along the edge, if you decide to remove it, this is not it) and latches. Under it, an unsoldered slot for one bar of RAM and an unsoldered disk were hidden. The Inspiron 13 stands on 4 really stable rubberized legs. For all the time of use, it warmed up slightly - in the center and a little closer to the right edge, so it is allowed to keep it on your knees. The “blowing out” grill is located on the lid, but there has never been such a laptop working like a heated fan. Everything is proper.

The Dell Inspiron 13 is a 13" laptop while the Dell Inspiron 11 is an 11" laptop. Your Captain. They are almost identical to each other, right down to the battery capacity, just a difference of 2 inches and an improved processor. The parameters of our device: 19.4 x 330 x 222 mm. A lot, but not critical. Enough for comfortable work, fits in a backpack. If you go with a reticule, it will fit in a complete bag. In general, all the details fit well to each other, and there was no feeling that something was creaking or grunting. But the laptop is poorly prepared for spring and weighs as much as 1700 grams. As a girl, I was terribly offended that Lyapota received a “car” for review, which does not delay the backpack, and I go to the office with a two-kilogram bandura. The men in the office said that I make everything up and that it is not heavy. Well, oh-oh-ok.

All the necessary connectors are located on the two sides: for a Kensington lock, for a power supply, HDMI, 2 USB 3.0 ports (1 USB 3.0 port with PowerShare technology), a combined audio jack, speakers on the right and left for stereo sound (by the way, after ASUS Zenbook, speakers are enough loud). As for the sound quality, I'm not a great specialist, but the sound seemed decent to me. On the front side there is a power indicator, on the right there are mechanical power buttons and a volume rocker, another USB, this time 2.0, a card reader (SD, MMC) and a hidden stylus or electronic pen.

Not to say that this detail can be called a plus of the device. This is an ordinary passive stylus, just made in the form of a pencil and looks stylish. I used it very infrequently, only if there is a desire to paint. Everything is better than a finger, although it does not recognize the pressing force and does not own smart functions. But with its help it is convenient to edit the text.

Hinges are located between the display and the keyboard. And now let's go straight to the next point.

Acrobatics

Dell Inspiron 13 can and practices the “Laptop”, “Tablet”, “Console” and “Presentation” modes. Peeped in the description of Lenovo Yoga, because Dell themselves do not name these positions, limiting themselves to a modest description “The Inspiron 13 7000 series 2-in-1 system combines the highest performance of a premium laptop with the versatility of a 13.3-inch tablet with an integrated pen ". That is, like 2 poses, no more. But we hyped it up for more (I hope that doesn't sound vulgar). As I feel, the hinges are a little tight. On the one hand, this is good - they will not fail after a thousand bending. On the other hand, sometimes the process of eversion was so difficult that I had time to think, “Why bend it at all?” and didn't bend. I sit table-to-table with Sergei Shamanov in the editorial office, and sometimes, when you need to quickly show something, you want to throw back the display with all the pathos. But bending a laptop is not as quick a process as it seems at first glance.

You can make a tablet from a laptop, but it turns out that it is not very mobile. I can't say with certainty that this is a direct option for everyone. With such a display, sitting in the subway, reading books ... It's possible, but it's hardly very convenient. But in the evening, after finishing work, remove the keyboard and watch movies, TV shows, or just be stupid on the Internet. Everything is convenient. In this case, the keyboard is blocked, you can grab the buttons with peace of mind. But the mechanical ones on the side remain in working order, so you can increase the volume both with their help and by pulling the slider with your finger on the touch screen - as it is more convenient for you personally.

Display

This is where I have very conflicting feelings. I explain. 13.3 inches is the optimal diagonal. You can’t call a laptop a dinosaur, you can take it with you on a trip, everything is ok with that. FullHD resolution is enough with the head (and there is also a model with a resolution of 1366 x 768), the colors are bright and saturated, however, it can turn blue or green at an angle, but this is not critical. Everything is good with him and with backlighting - the maximum is enough on a sunny day (but with closed curtains or blinds), the minimum is comfortable in a poorly lit room. There is a light sensor that is responsible for automatically adjusting the brightness of the display (and the backlight of the keyboard, but more on that later), and it works plus or minus adequately. Under the display is a mechanical Windows button. This is no longer a system requirement, but it will not be superfluous. On this, my “liked” everything.

The first thing you notice is that the frames are too wide. Now, if on the sides and top they are just wide, then below is just a double chin. It doesn't look very nice. Although when you spin the laptop up to the tablet and hold the display itself with your fingers, then let them lie better in the margins than in the picture.

The second is rigidity. She's not very good at all. The lid with the display can bend, like in a frying pan. Soft display. Plus, it's very thin. Be sure to watch the video. If it turned out not very expressive for your taste, I specify that the screen is pressed through with a finger. Not to dents, of course, but even when you forcefully push the laptop towards you, sitting at the table and holding the lid, stains may appear on the display. In this case, I do not recommend pressing on the lid at all under any circumstances. No fingers or anything. And this means that you need to put a laptop in your luggage very, very, very carefully. And if you put it in a backpack and take it with you on the plane as hand luggage, then it’s better to take it out and hold it in your hands. My display remained intact during testing, but there is never too much caution.

Third, and maybe my personal problem as a crash tester with experience - the rubber band around the display is of insufficient height or density. The laptop closes very quickly, as if there are magnets somewhere, and every time it seems that everything happened so abruptly that the glass broke. This, of course, did not happen, it is strong and everything is OK, but the user experience is priceless. You should have seen my face from the side when the lid slammed shut for the first time.

Keyboard and touchpad

The keyboard does not occupy the entire perimeter, on the right and left the distance is another two fingers. It is located in a small recess with a border-sill along the edge. The keys are chic with a light middle travel, one-story Enter and two levels of backlighting, which, as I said, can be turned on and off arbitrarily. The top row of buttons works without the Fn button, but if you want to refresh the page or go to full screen mode and stuff like that, you will need it. I do not have a Russian layout, but it will definitely be on sale.

The manufacturer claims that the keyboard is waterproof, but we had a test copy in our office, so we didn’t experiment, we were afraid. In theory, nothing will happen to your Dell Inspiron 13 if you knock over a cup of tea or splash it with water. How to paint - share your experience. In general, I liked working with the keyboard. The distance between the keys is comfortable, the stroke, the texture - everything is for me.

The touchpad is in the center, but due to the fact that it is not directly under the space bar, it seems as if it has moved a little to the right. The top edge with the keys is located flush with the case, and the bottom one is slightly in the recess, it turned out to be a kind of slide, along which it is convenient to slide your fingers for a swipe. Although it is so minimal that I still thought about it - maybe it's just that it is glued crookedly? I would like to believe that it is still a stingray! Touch recognizes accurately, knows the gestures of Windows, there are practically no complaints about it. Sometimes it happened that he independently raises or lowers the precisely pointed cursor. It's infuriating. But, in principle, it happened so infrequently that I normally used the laptop without a mouse.

Performance

I already told you that there is also an 11-inch model in the Inspiron 2-in-1 line, but it was the 13-inch model that got under the hood an Intel Core i5-5200U with Broadwell microarchitecture, a frequency of 2.2 GHz and a maximum of 2.7 GHz , Intel HD Graphics 4400 graphics. In addition to this option, there are modifications with an Intel Core i7 5500U with a frequency of 2.4 GHz or an Intel Core i3 4030U with a frequency of 1.9 GHz. Hard drive to choose from: 500 GB SATA drive (5400 rpm) or 256 GB. RAM 8 GB with a frequency of 1.6 GHz, please note - DDR3L. Keep two screenshots of the most important performance tests to confirm my words - it is powerful enough to work with a lot of information and run simple games on minimum settings with a small amount of fps.

I am not a gamer, and the positioning of the laptop is far from gaming. This is a business device, you need to bring it to the office, put it on a beautiful oak table and don’t drag it anywhere else. Only perhaps from the negotiation to the negotiation. Or co-working if you're a hipster start-up with no fixed work space. Even though you can afford to launch tanks or cops here, it will not look juicy enough to play high. But if you run a million tabs in multiple browsers, work with videos, spreadsheets, documents, photos, and whatever else comes into your head at the same time, the Dell Inspiron 13 will not die and beg for mercy.

autonomy

This is just the pitfall of the device. The built-in 43 Wh battery (not removable or replaceable) makes it possible to work autonomously with a laptop for 3 hours at maximum loads. If you have an average rate of devouring a charge, that is, working with documents, online video and surfing the Internet, it will be enough, like me, for five hours. If you work exclusively with documents, then for 7 hours. This is never a record at all, and I would say that autonomy is the crooked leg of this laptop. I would like more.

Conclusion

The Dell Inspiron 13 laptop can be found in stores for about $900 for the lowest configuration, or about $1000 for ours (Intel Core i5, 8 GB of RAM, FullHD display). And that's a thousand dollars cheaper than the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro or just over $500 cheaper than the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro. In short, consider that you are buying a stylish state employee in the world of transformers. It's not the cheapest option if you're just looking for a laptop, but it's a hefty amount for a 2-in-1 device.

As for me, the laptop is very, very good if you want to buy a home or work device. That is, without moving it somewhere far away. With such autonomy and rigidity of the display of this representative of office residents, I would not take a movie to nature with me. Maximum - to bring to the coworking.

It is beautiful, stylish, comfortable and very pleasant to the touch, if necessary, turns into a tablet or a tent, copes with loads above average, and this is exactly what students, startups, schoolchildren, office managers, businessmen, marketers, journalists and to many, many people in general. This laptop is very pleasant to work with, and this is one of the main arguments in favor.

In our review, today we will look at the Dell Inspiron 13 5368, which turns from a tablet and back into a laptop in one motion.
I will not delay the introduction, I will go straight to the point.

Design

The appearance of the Inspiron 13 is strict, simple, minimalistic and concise.
Of course, the case made of plastic, albeit made “under chrome-plated metal”, does not cause a “wow” effect, but this is not a flagship device either.

The laptop has rather sharp corners, the company's logo is located on the lid. The screen is held on two, rather tight, hinges that allow you to rotate the case 360 degrees, changing the position of the entire device.

On the left side are two USB ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an HDMI port. On the right is another USB port and an SD card slot.

hats and slit

I was a little embarrassed by the unhidden bolt caps at the bottom of the laptop.

As for the keyboard, it is a standard island type, the keys are made of black plastic, the case itself is made to match the color of the laptop. It is possible to choose from two modes of illumination of the keys.

The touchpad is large, comfortable to use, does not have pronounced keys.
The only key disadvantage that can repel a potential user is the dimensions and thickness - 325x224x20 mm with a weight of 1.62 kg.

Display

Dell Inspiron 13 5368 is equipped with a 13.3-inch touchscreen display with a FullHD resolution of 1920x1080 and a glossy finish. The latter is a significant drawback, coupled with a low level of maximum brightness, the image from the screen becomes unreadable in sunlight. Not even that - the slightest light will give you gigantic problems, even if the screen is turned away from the source. I think you can see everything in the photo.

But the color rendition and contrast surprised with their adequacy: the colors are close to natural, there is no discomfort during work.
Also pleased with the good uniformity of illumination. A display for those who like to work at night, and not in nature.

Iron

As a processor, the laptop received an Intel Core i5-6200U. This processor is characterized by good performance (for a laptop on which everyday tasks are performed), low power consumption and a low case temperature at maximum loads.

During testing, the processor proved to be adequate hardware, capable of competing with laptops from other companies in terms of performance.
Someone may object, because the amount of RAM is only 4 GB, but, nevertheless, the Dell Inspiron 13 5368 not only copes with standard tasks for a tablet, but also pulls games such as World of Tanks, for example. Of course, the graphics settings will not be set to the maximum, but that's something. A kind of computer "mom, me for study" with nice Easter eggs.

As I said, the case practically does not heat up at maximum loads. Of course, the cooling system starts to make noise, but this happens everywhere even with laptops, and in this case, the fans are noisy only when running heavy games.

If we talk about sound, then the Inspiron 13 5368 was not an audiophile discovery. The speakers are ordinary - for movies and even music they will do. Although the sound in the headphones is a level higher and better than the sound of the speakers, however, no noise or wheezing occurred in any of the cases.

Battery

The Inspiron 13 5368 is equipped with a 42 Wh battery and I must say that battery life is one of the key advantages of the Inspiron 13 5368.
So, for example, the device worked for 7 hours without recharging when performing various tasks.

Summing up

We do not yet know the final price (approximately - 40 thousand rubles) for the Dell Inspiron 13 5368, but the device is an acceptable option for people who want to have a device with them for both entertainment and work for little money.
There are significant drawbacks, such as a glossy screen and insufficient brightness, but at the same time, we have good hardware and high battery life.

The appearance on the market of a separate segment of hybrid laptops was a natural response to the growing demand of consumers for a certain category of gadgets that could combine two highly sought-after qualities: the touch capabilities of a tablet and the comfortable ergonomics of a laptop.

In this review, we will get acquainted with a bright representative of the so-called computer "transformers" - a premium laptop DellInspiron 13 7347 , on the example of which we will try to find out what unusual properties and technical features this very interesting class of devices has.

Appearance, arrangement of elements

The Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop has an attractive and quite recognizable corporate style, which in this model noticeably echoes the look of smartphones due to the alternation of rounded and chopped edges, as well as the characteristic transition from the protective display panel to the edging. In general, it looks very interesting.

Like most other 13.3-inch models, the reviewed laptop has fairly compact dimensions (330 x 222 x 19.4 mm) and low weight (1.67 kg), which has a positive effect on its ergonomics. The device is convenient to use both in a standard notebook format and as a tablet. Moreover, the transformation process is quite fast and intuitive, so it will not cause any difficulties even for an unprepared user.

The body of the laptop is almost entirely made of high-quality silvery plastic with a soft-touch coating that is pleasant to the touch. Traditionally, such a material has good tactile properties, but quickly collects fingerprints. Fortunately, they are also easily removed with the help of improvised means.

The top side of the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 is represented by a completely flat surface that adheres tightly to the laptop case after transformation. Decorated with her company logo. For a more secure fixation of the lid in the closed state, as well as in tablet mode, a pair of magnets is provided in the front edge of the base.

The frames around the screen have standard sizes and have a small rubberized border along the contour, which serves as additional protection against damage.

The block itself is held by two metal hinges, which are quite tight, so you won't be able to open the laptop with one hand - you'll have to hold the base.

They provide a maximum opening angle of 360° and a very precise fixation in any available position.

The working panel of the laptop is covered with a solid plate of silvery plastic, which smoothly flows into the base of the case, which increases the overall rigidity of the structure.

Despite the rather unusual shape and the presence of characteristic tablet controls, the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop has a completely standard and well-thought-out arrangement of functional elements.

On the left side of the laptop are: Kensington lock, charger socket, HDMI port, two USB 3.0 ports, combo audio jack and multimedia speaker grille. At the same time, the right sidewall contains: a power button, a volume rocker, a second speaker grille, a USB 2.0 port, a card reader hole and a slot with a complete stylus.

On the front side of the laptop there is one LED power indicator, while the cooling system grille is placed on the back of the device.

The bottom of the Dell Inspiron 13 7347 is almost completely covered with a solid plastic cover. Four rubber feet are attached to it, which serve as an additional support for the display unit when the laptop is opened.

There is no separate hatch for replacing internal components, but it is possible to detach the bottom cover by unscrewing 5 small screws. However, this procedure should be done only in a service center in order to avoid possible problems with the warranty.

The overall build quality of the laptop is good. All structural elements are fitted tightly, without visible backlash and gaps. The level of rigidity is also not serious, since the laptop case does a good job with moderate impact. Slightly alarming is the appearance of small artifacts when pressed from the back of the screen, which can be caused by the relatively small thickness of the display unit.

Input Devices

Dell Inspiron 13 7347 is equipped with a full-size (275 x 102 mm) island-style keyboard. It has a matte gray base that is slightly recessed into the work surface. The keyboard block is fixed very securely, with the necessary margin of safety and the level of rigidity to ensure fast and comfortable data entry.

The keys are equipped with a classic scissor-membrane mechanism, which has a short and fairly quiet stroke, with a comfortable tactile feedback. They have a flat cap shape and differ in standard sizes (basic - 15 x 15 mm; functional - 13 x 9 mm; arrows - 17 x 8 mm).

Of the additional keys outside the keyboard, there is a small button, which is located under the display.

The keyboard unit is equipped with LED backlight, which can be adjusted using the key combination + . It has a pleasant uniform glow, which greatly facilitates the use of a laptop in low light conditions.

Symbolic elements were applied using the laser method. It is of high quality and good wear resistance, but is characterized by a single color scheme for the main and function keys.

The touchpad of the laptop is represented by a solid touchpad of rather large dimensions - 105 x 65 mm. It is also slightly recessed into the base and has a good protrusion. The panel has a matte finish with pleasant tactile properties. It provides easy glide and high sensitivity. As in other devices in this category, there is full support for multi-touch gestures in the Windows environment.

In addition to standard input methods, the reviewed laptop boasts the presence of a complete stylus. It is represented by a plastic pen without additional functionality.

The stylus is fixed in a special groove on the right side of the laptop with a secure latch, which eliminates the possibility of accidental loss of this accessory.

Display, sound, webcam

The Dell Inspiron 13 7347 laptop is equipped with a high-quality 13.3-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and a pixel density of 118 ppi. Its main feature is the touch substrate, which supports the work with the stylus.

Traditionally for IPS-matrices, the display has a high contrast ratio, pleasant color reproduction and wide viewing angles. It is protected by tempered glass with a good oleophobic coating. The backlight is characterized by a sufficient margin of brightness, which can be adjusted automatically, which allows you to comfortably use the laptop during the day and at night.

The sound subsystem of the laptop is represented by stereo speakers, which are placed on the side faces of the case. This placement allows you to achieve a sufficiently loud and clear sound in almost any mode of operation with the device. In the available sound range, there are both high and medium frequencies. For a more detailed adjustment of the sound range, proprietary software Waves MaxxAudio Pro is used.

The role of the webcam is performed by a 1.3-megapixel module with a resolution of 720p, the capabilities of which will be quite enough to conduct web conferences or make Internet calls. It is located above the laptop screen, surrounded by a single activity indicator and two fairly high-quality microphones.

Hardware platform and performance

A wide range of laptops based on 4th, 5th and 6th generation Intel Core processors is presented to the choice of a potential buyer. We are considering the initial version, equipped with a dual-core Intel Core i3-4010U processor with a clock frequency of 1700 MHz, which is capable of processing up to four data streams.

The chip is built on the basis of the Intel Haswell microarchitecture in accordance with the 22-nm process technology. It is equipped with a cache memory (Smart Cache) of the 3rd level with a capacity of 3 MB and has a modest thermal package - only 15 watts.

The processor is equipped with an integrated graphics adapter Intel HD Graphics 4400 with a clock speed of 200 MHz (can be dynamically increased to 1000 MHz) and support for popular technologies and APIs: DirectX 11.1, OpenCL 2.0 and OpenGL 4.3. The amount of video memory of the accelerator is 1 GB, which are allocated from the RAM.

The CPU RAM controller supports LPDDR3 and DDR3L-1333/1600 MHz modules in 2-channel mode with a maximum capacity of 16 GB. However, in our case, there is only one slot, in which 4 GB of the DDR3L-1600 MHz standard is installed. The memory works in single-channel mode and can be replaced with a larger bar (up to 8 GB).

The laptop's wireless connectivity is through the Dell Wireless 1708 Combo Network Controller (Broadcom BCM43142). It is responsible for 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 LE standards. Wired connection is not supported.

The disk subsystem of the laptop is represented by a Seagate ST500LT012-1DG142 HDD drive with a SATA 6 Gb / s interface and a capacity of 500 GB. Its clipboard capacity is 16 MB, and the spindle speed is at the standard level of 5400 rpm.

The Dell Inspiron 13 7347 comes preloaded with Windows 8.1, which can be upgraded to Windows 10 Home for free. This simple procedure will require approximately 6.5 GB of free space on your system drive. At the same time, all user settings and applications will be saved and will be available after the update.

As can be seen from the results obtained, the computing capabilities of the Intel Core i3-4010U processor are able to provide fairly fast and comfortable operation of almost any office and multimedia applications, as well as the simultaneous launch of several programs. In addition, the user will be able to play most modern games without much difficulty at minimum, and in some cases, medium graphics settings, in native display resolution.

Cooling system, noise level and temperature conditions

The design of the notebook CO is represented by a small aluminum radiator combined with a cooler and a flat heat pipe, at the end of which a copper plate is attached, which removes heat from the central processor. Verification of its effectiveness was carried out by means of the AIDA64 test at an ambient temperature of 27°C.

So, in idle mode and while performing simple everyday tasks, the internal system temperature of the laptop did not exceed a comfortable 48 ° C, and the CO itself remained almost silent due to the low fan speed. However, when launching gaming applications (several sessions in the World of Tanks game), as well as when working in a stressful mode, this indicator quickly rose to 65-67 ° C, and the cooler rotation speed reached a maximum of 6500 rpm, causing acoustic discomfort .

Fortunately, this in no way affected the temperature of the case and its tactile properties. Even with prolonged loads, it remained only slightly warm and pleasant to the touch, which made it possible to comfortably use the gadget, placing it on your lap or holding it in your hands. A small exception was the area near the CO holes in the rear part, which, however, is associated with the internal layout and is typical for all devices of this class.

Power supply, battery and battery life

The laptop is equipped with a non-removable 3-cell Li-ion battery with a capacity of 3950 mAh (43 Wh), which is able to provide a good level of autonomy.

On average, from a single charge in the maximum load mode, the device worked for a little more than 2 hours, and when viewing Full HD video - 4 hours. At the same time, in idle mode, the battery was completely discharged in 11 hours and 38 minutes, which is the best indicator among the main competitors.

To charge the battery and operate from the network, a 45 W power supply (19.5 V at 2.31 A) is used. It is able to fully charge the laptop battery in 2 hours and 50 minutes. Even at maximum load, its operating temperature did not exceed 45 ° C, which should be considered a good result.

Results

Laptop DellInspiron 13 7347 may be able to attract attention. It has a stylish and recognizable design, comfortable ergonomics, a high-quality touch screen and a sufficiently productive hardware platform with which you can easily solve all everyday tasks and run most modern games, albeit not at high graphics settings. Despite the compact size and light weight, the engineers managed to equip the laptop with a good set of interface ports and the necessary wireless modules, as well as install a capacious lithium-ion battery that can demonstrate a good level of autonomy. However, the main advantage of the reviewed device is still the ability to quickly and conveniently transform into a full-fledged working tablet, which is also supplemented with a complete stylus and a number of useful functions.

As a result, with the exception of minor flaws and not the most affordable price, we get a high-quality and very promising gadget that will definitely appeal to a young audience of users who are able to appreciate a stylish design and are ready for bold and productive experiments.

Advantages:

  • stylish design;
  • good build quality;
  • fast and intuitive transformation process (laptop-tablet);
  • high-quality touch IPS-screen;
  • the presence of a complete stylus;
  • full-size island-style keyboard with uniform LED backlighting;
  • pleasant sounding audio subsystem;
  • a sufficient level of performance to solve everyday tasks and run most modern games (low and medium graphics settings);
  • efficient cooling system;
  • a good set of interface connectors;

What should be a premium laptop? Productive, compact, with a nice design. Colleagues, partners - everyone should understand who they are dealing with when the owner takes him out of the portfolio. At first glance, everything is really so. However, without annoying little things that interfere with effective work, it still could not do.

Equipment

A large cardboard box without any frills in the form of high-quality printing contains the laptop itself, a 65 W charger with a cable about 2.75 meters long, and, perhaps, that's all. There is also a special stylus, but it is hidden on the side, directly in the computer case.

Still, there is a touch screen, so the stylus should always be at hand, although the screen is sensitive to finger touches.

Design

The body of the laptop is dominated by straight lines and rounded corners - it all looks stylish. One gets the feeling that the top cover with the display and the bottom unit with all the other organs of the computer are two different devices stacked on top of each other. This design solution looks very interesting.

The body halves are attached to each other on two loops. The upper part can be fixed in any position and open almost 360 degrees, thereby turning the laptop into a full-fledged tablet. The keyboard in this state, of course, is blocked and does not record accidental keystrokes. In addition, an accelerometer is included in the work, which rotates the interface depending on the angle of the display. Everything happens quickly and without delay.

The assembly as a whole is very good. Nothing backlash, no creaks, with the exception of perhaps only one moment.

On the left edge of the display, the protective glass panel does not fit snugly against the body and, when squeezed with fingers, constantly clicks, as if falling into place.

A small marriage, most likely, is characteristic of a specific sample that turned out to be on our test. No one bothers you to check this nuance before buying.

And from below, and from above, and in general from all sides there is a matte, pleasant to the touch Soft-Touch coating.

Unfortunately, during operation, all this soft texture begins to rub off and the corners of the laptop are the first to be hit. Somehow this is not very for a premium device.

In addition, the laptop is quite thin and light (1.67 kilograms), so it is easy to take it with you to work, on a trip - and anywhere.

However, with all this, the Dell Inspiron 13 does not set mobility records. In a hand bag, of course, it will be felt, but in a backpack it is almost gone. Other dimensions in the plate below are examples of competitive products from other manufacturers.

On the side ends are multimedia speakers (only 2 pieces). Of course, there is no question of any bass here, but the sound that the speakers make is clear and very loud. You can watch movies without headphones. The main thing is not to disturb others if it is a public place!

The manufacturer claims that the laptop has a waterproof keyboard. In theory, this means that nothing will happen if you spill a little liquid on the keyboard. We did not check it, and you still would not be advised. There is protection and let this information warm the soul further.

There are no NumPad number keys here. Affects a small laptop diagonal of 13.3 inches. Instead, there is a button backlight function, however, only in three modes: dim light, bright backlight, or complete shutdown. No intermediate adjustments.

In general, the keyboard is comfortable. The key travel is clear, pressing moderately soft. Printing even large texts is comfortable.

The keyboard block is surrounded by a small frame that protrudes above the body, which prevents the appearance of key prints on the screen after folding the laptop. There really are no button prints, but traces from this very frame remain. Dell engineers have more work to do.

On the inner surface there is a rather large touchpad. Its area is really large, but it is quite inconvenient in work.

I'm pretty used to controlling my computer through the Touch Bar on the MacBook Air. Accordingly, the transition to the Dell touchpad was not easy for me. What can I say, it didn't happen at all. I couldn't get used to it. First, it lacks the kinetic scrolling that everyone on a portable Mac is used to. By the way, we can observe such scrolling when scrolling through any lists on devices with iOS and Android on board. Desktop Windows in this parameter is far behind its mobile competitors.

Secondly, it is the general sensitivity and accuracy of touch detection. This is a problem with our Dell laptop. The touchpad in the Inspiron 13 sometimes does not respond to touch the first time, it is difficult to aim and click on some small icon or link. There is only one way out - always carry a Bluetooth mouse with you and sleep peacefully.

Display

The laptop has a 13.3-inch IPS technology matrix. Nothing good can be said about the display, and here's why.

With the native display resolution set to 1366 x 768 pixels, letters and numbers blur into individual pixels and look fuzzy. I tried to change the resolution, adjust the Clear Type font smoothing for myself - the problems remained. In the Chrome browser, this manifests itself to a greater extent, and in IE to a lesser extent, however, after a while, the eyes get tired and the information ceases to be perceived.

Below I have given an example of how the fonts look on one of the web pages of our site. On the left photo is a 15.6-inch HP G62 screen with exactly the same resolution as in the Dell 7347, then our hero's display, on the right photo is the MacBook Air 11 '' screen.

The second is the richness of colors and contrast. The display also has problems with this.

Colors look dull, and the picture clearly lacks contrast. with corners review no problems - the image at any angle does not fade or invert.

Given that the screen surface is glossy, it is again difficult to work on the street or next to a window behind a laptop. The picture dims significantly, and the brightness margin is not enough to somehow remove the influence of sunlight.

Yes, a touch screen is installed here and the laptop can be used as a tablet. However, all this does not matter when an extremely cheap matrix is installed in such a rather expensive product. I hope the package with Full HD resolution will not disappoint.

Performance

Our test turned out to be the simplest model with an Intel Core i3 4010U 1.7 GHz processor installed on board, 4 gigabytes of RAM and 500 GB of HDD as data storage. I want to say right away that it makes no sense to buy this particular modification. It's all about her sluggishness. The system thinks even when working with files, when opening programs and over other standard operations.

Nevertheless, the machine copes with the usual Full HD videos (30 fps) on Youtube without any problems. But video in 2160p resolution is already a real test for our hero. The video sequence slows down a lot and looks more like a slide show. With the 1440p format, the situation is better, but still it is far from ideal and you can’t name comfortable viewing of such videos.

The tested equipment allows you to play not the heaviest 3D games. The computer swallowed high graphics settings without problems at the native screen resolution set in Diablo III. Heavy drawdowns in frame rate were not noticed even in dynamic scenes.

Battery life

The laptop is equipped with a non-removable lithium-ion, three-cell battery 43 Wh. The manufacturer assures that the computer can last up to 6 hours without recharging. There is a link to the test results using the Mobile Mark 2014 program.

In fact, this statement can be trusted. The machine is actually capable of working for so long on a single charge, provided that the backlight is reduced to an average level, wireless interfaces are turned off and only a text editor is used. Under normal operating conditions of a computer (one hour of web surfing, a text editor for a couple of hours, using other non-resource-intensive applications), it is able to stay afloat up to 5 hours or a little less. In general, the battery charge is enough for one working day. This is how it should always be!

Outcome

Price Dell Inspiron 13 7347 starts at 32,990 rubles for a modification with an Intel Core i3 1.9 GHz processor. The option with Core i5 1.7 GHz will already cost significantly more - about 41 - 42 thousand rubles. How much you have to pay for the maximum configuration with a Full HD screen and a Core i7 on board is scary to even imagine.

Now the most important question: is the game worth the candle? I think that everyone will answer this question for themselves, and I will only list the positive and negative aspects of the device that I managed to find during testing.

Pros:

  • excellent, ergonomic design
  • light weight (1.67 kg)
  • touch screen -> the ability to transform a laptop into a tablet
  • Comfortable backlit keyboard
  • two USB 3.0 connectors

Minuses:

  • display for three with a minus
  • poor performance (Core i3, 4 GB, 500 GB HDD)
  • Peel-off Soft-Toch coating on the edges of the case
  • uncomfortable touchpad
  • high price

I did not attribute the presence of Windows 8.1 to the pluses or minuses of the computer. Dell is participating in Microsoft's program to upgrade licensed users to the latest Windows 10, so all the horror (for some, maybe tsimes) will go away with the installation of the new OS. The main thing is not to forget to upgrade during the year while the system is being distributed for free.
