How to remove programs from a Windows 8 computer

Let's look at a universal way to remove programs. To do this you should go. To find it, you can type “control panel” in the Windows 8 search bar without quotes and then follow the found link in the search results.

In the Control Panel, go to “Programs”, and then to “Programs and Features”. Here you will see a list of installed programs in Windows 8 (1 in Fig. 1, you can click on the picture to enlarge):

Check the checkboxes next to user data (Fig. 3). It is possible that you need to uncheck the boxes next to “Delete bookmarks, contacts and notes” and opposite “Delete passwords and certificates”. If you uncheck the boxes, bookmarks and passwords will NOT be deleted.

After checking the checkboxes, click the “Delete” button.

The Opera browser will be removed.

Uninstalling programs in Windows XP.

In order to remove a program in Windows XP, you need to click the "Start" button - "Control Panel"

When you install an app on Windows 8, you can't download it from a website like you can with desktop programs.

All of them are installed from the Windows Store. This makes it easier to find, install and update your applications. The latest updates are installed automatically, although you can disable the automatic update feature if you wish.

To do this, in the Store charms, open the Settings option and click in the top right corner of the App Updates screen. On the settings page that appears, you can manage automatic application updates.

Attention. If you're running Windows 8.1 and manage your computers through Windows Server, you can deploy, update, and remove applications and desktop programs using AppLocker. AppLocker is not available on Windows RT.

As usual, you can install the software on your computer using a CD or DVD with a software installer, or by running it from a flash drive or other external drive through Explorer. You can't install desktop software on a computer running Windows RT because of fundamental differences in the windows experience in Windows 8.1 between PCs and Windows RT devices. To remove an app (and software installed on your computer) from the Start screen, right-click (touch and hold) the app and select Remove from App Tray.

If you delete an application, it is deleted immediately. If you delete a desktop program, you will be redirected to the “Programs and Features” page, where you will have to select and delete the desired program.

Checking the box removes the application only from this PC, but leaves it on your other devices. Unchecked will remove the application on all PCs with this Microsoft account.

Uninstalling desktop applications

Programs designed for the desktop in Windows 8 are called desktop applications that users were accustomed to in previous versions. Their removal occurs somewhat differently than modern tiled programs.
