New game element: encrypted containers

Global events, previously announced under the working title "seasons", are designed to breathe new life into the open world of The Division and give players a good reason to return to the infected New York. These events will take place in PvE zones after completing all story missions.

Important Note:

Everything you see and read here is at the development stage and is highly dependent on the success of testing on the PTS. Please remember this, and do not forget to share your impressions on the PlayGround forum.

MODIFIERS AND MORE

These global modifiers will also be related to events taking place in New York. They will allow players to get to know the game world better.

In addition to the global modifier, there are several separate custom modifiers planned that will allow you to customize global events to your liking. Custom modifiers are only available in a special list of global events, which includes not only main operations, but also invasions!

Event modifiers give you the opportunity to put your own spin on global events, and group modifiers allow you to test how well your team works together. There are three main types of global event modifiers planned.

TOKENS, CONTAINERS, WARDROBE ITEMS AND MUCH MORE!

You will earn tokens by participating in all Global Event activities, whether player modified or not. These tokens can be spent at the new Global Event Vendor, which sells sealed containers containing new items in the world of The Division. As a reward for participating in global events, players will receive unique wardrobe items. We will talk about all these new rewards in more detail in the near future.

GLOBAL MODIFIERS

Global modifiers, as well as the events themselves, are designed to always bring something good to the player. But they not only help the player complete a task, but also provide a source of fresh experiences - for example, the player will be able to complete the task in some new, interesting way.

GROUP MODIFIERS

And finally, group modifiers. These modifiers are the next logical step in the development of the event modifier. They retain the positive qualities of the global modifier, increase difficulty similar to event modifiers, and encourage a group of players to act tactically. They require clear coordination and teamwork, but the rewards will be truly generous.

EVENT MODIFIERS

Event modifiers, on the other hand, not only help the agent, but also slightly increase the difficulty level. They work well with the global modifier and give you the same benefit, but it will cost a little more.

Similar to Underground Directives, these modifiers plus the Global Stage you play in affect the number of Tokens you earn.

For now to The Division development team plans to host global events once a month for one full week. On the weekends between global events, they'll be hosting familiar double reward events to keep The Division's loyal agents always busy.

A new free update is ready for The Division, number 1.7, which will add global events, loot boxes and much more to the game. In global events, players will have to earn rare pieces of equipment by completing tasks with various modifiers. According to the developers, these events will affect the entire game world as a whole. The first of these events will be a global event called Outbreak. The game will also feature new cosmetic items and other exclusive items, which can be unlocked by opening encrypted containers using special keys. Read more about this update below and watch the video.
