List of all payment systems. Payment systems: list, principles of work. List of electronic payment systems

Electronic payment systems are becoming an increasingly popular financial instrument. The ability to manage your payments and expenses from any device and carry out any settlements on the network is not a complete list of functions of electronic wallets.

Today, the list of payment systems includes several dozen items, but only a few are recognized as the most reliable and convenient. Those who have decided to open an account in such a service for active use should first familiarize themselves with the features of each wallet.

Visa Qiwi Wallet

Opens the list of payment systems Qiwi wallet. The electronic service Qiwi Wallet is not in vain in the first place - it is a convenient and functional multi-platform tool. The Qiwi group was formed in 2007 in Moscow. Since then, the company has managed to acquire its own bank, went international and launched co-branded products with Visa.

Today, the Qiwi payment system has tens of millions of users around the world. Qiwi wallet holders can make utility and other types of payments, repay loans, make transfers and pay for purchases on the Internet and applications. This is not all the possibilities of the wallet! At the same time, the account in Visa Qiwi Wallet matches the owner's phone number, and the level of payment security allows you to be sure of the safety of funds.

WebMoney Transfer

Wallet WebMoney does not lead the list of electronic payment systems, but firmly holds leading positions in some individual articles. First of all, this is the most popular way to make currency transactions on the network. WebMoney Keeper is available for opening an account in US dollars, euros, hryvnias and other monetary units.

To open an account, it is enough to install a special keeper on a computer or on a mobile device. The developers guarantee compliance with all security requirements, and therefore some calculations require passport data, and each operation is confirmed by a password.

It offers users numerous features and services, partnerships between large companies and a user-friendly interface. The specificity of this wallet is the ability to exchange currencies. The course, of course, is not the most profitable, but sometimes such a service is very useful.

"Yandex money"

In 2002, the Russian browser "Yandex" released its next product - the electronic payment system "Yandex.Money". In the same year, the project received an official bank certificate as a service for electronic payments and bank transfers, overtaking other payment systems in this matter. The list of users of "Yandex.Money" has 18 million people, and every day this figure is replenished by 12 thousand.

Users can install a payment system wallet on mobile device, on a computer in the form of a program or use the service online. Wallet owners can pay for purchases, receipts and bills. At the same time, funds are debited at the user's choice either from an account in the payment system or from a bank card. In payment terminals using Yandex.Money, you can select the desired provider and complete the transaction using cash.

One of the features of the Yandex service is the ability to make payments to unregistered users. Official wallet owners can order a plastic card linked to the Yandex.Money system and set up reminders.

All of the above sites are included in the list of payment systems in Russia. Often, Internet users have to resort to the services of international systems for settlements. As a rule, most foreign online stores and applications work with PayPal.

PayPal

This is the undisputed leader, which bypasses other electronic payment systems in world rankings. The list of PayPal wallet owners is over 170 million people. The system is recognized as very convenient and safe. But the electronic service is not very hospitable to the inhabitants of Russia and a number of countries of the former Union.

Some operations are still not available to a resident of our country. And if we take into account the list of available currencies for settlements in the system, then a rather strange fact was the long absence of the ruble, but the presence of 18 other currencies, including the Hong Kong dollar or the Polish zloty.

Nobody concealed the reasons for such measures in PayPal. The point is distrust of the inhabitants of Russia and an attempt to protect the system from scammers and violators, who, according to the creators of the service, live in abundance in the Russian Federation and the CIS countries.

Payment systems are a convenient modern service. The vast majority of users believe that the future is behind such technologies. The list of payment systems is constantly updated, and existing projects are evolving and improving. If someone still does not have a wallet in the electronic service of the payment system, then they need to get it.

So far, progress has come a long way. Settlements have long been made not only in cash, but also by card, as well as online through electronic payment systems. The list of these services is regularly updated.

Currently, online investments and payments are developed, which cannot do without electronic money. During its inception (early 90s) it became clear that traditional financial products were not suitable for electronic payments. This is how the existing online payment systems appeared. The list and features of each of them are presented below.

Principle of operation

These systems operate in different ways. Basically, the founders of such services create their own electronic currency. They call them original, since it is illegal to use "money" in the name. However, it is important to understand that beautiful terms indicate the absence of any financial guarantees and deposit insurance.

Everything is on the conscience of the founders, who value their reputation. Essentially where participants register and transactions take place. Each contributor has Personal Area and in which the amount of money in his account is fixed.

Some services even have their own exchange offices for issuing cash.

Advantages and disadvantages

Electronic payment systems have a considerable list of advantages.

  1. Instant transactions (transfer of funds, payment for online purchases, conversion).
  2. Low commissions (due to high competition).
  3. Anonymity (a big plus for those who work semi-legally).
  4. Funds can be transferred to any bank account.
  5. Greater security (than with cash).
  6. Very convenient for receiving salaries for remote employees.
  7. Possibility to pay utility bills, telephone, Internet.

Payment systems also have a list of disadvantages.

  1. The main disadvantage is that the accounts are not completely legal.
  2. Not all purchases can be paid for using electronic money.
  3. The service of converting funds into cash is expensive.
  4. Due to the lack of control by the law, you can often encounter scammers (on free hosting, such sites are created in 5 minutes, so you should check the service for authenticity).

To check the EPS for authenticity, it is enough to find out whether large financial structures cooperate with this service (Sberbank of Russia, Alfa-Bank).

List of payment systems in Russia

The main services operating on the territory of the Russian Federation:

  • "Yandex. Money" is one of the most popular in Russia. It can be used to make many payments. In particular, payment for paid games and other Internet services, utilities, telephone, purchases in online stores. It is also used for money transfers.

Good day everyone!

The Internet is becoming more and more integrated into our lives. Now you can quickly transfer money to relatives or friends, and buy some things, and pay for insurance, receipts - and all this without leaving your home!

All these transactions with money cannot be carried out without payment systems . Now, of course, many online stores allow you to pay by card, but not all stores can do with just plastic. I'm not talking about transfers, the same can take up to 5 days, and a transfer, say, to QIWI - up to 5 minutes! Face difference 👌...

In this article, I want to focus on the most necessary payments that are used on the Internet. (where it is relatively safe to store money and dispose of it). By the way, many of them allow you to save money, because. commissions for transfers within their system are cheaper than in many Internet banks ...

One misspelling for 1-2 letters - and you can get problems with blocking or freezing the account until clarified. In addition, unconfirmed wallets have certain limits on the use of funds.

QIWI wallet

QIWI wallet is one of the easiest and most convenient ways to pay for purchases and make transfers on the Internet. All you need to get started is just a mobile phone (when registering, QIWI binds a mobile number (for security)).

The service allows you to pay utility bills, make purchases, make instant money transfers, and all this with a very low commission (of course, relative to other services).

QIWI also has a fairly wide network of payment terminals, a mobile application, various Internet resources, which all together makes the use of this payment system simple and convenient.

  1. works in many countries of the World (more than 20 at the time of writing);
  2. transactions and transfers are carried out almost instantly (commissions are minimal or absent);
  3. there is very (this is the return of a certain percentage of the cost of purchases (for example, you bought a product for 1000 rubles - 100 rubles returned to your wallet). According to some offers from online stores, cashback reaches 10-15%!);
  4. tight integration with other Internet wallets, operator's mobile account;
  5. easy replenishment of the wallet (and in many cases without commission) from Internet banks, cards, other payments;
  6. there is no Internet connection, then you can send a transfer even using an SMS message;

  8. before making a transfer, QIWI will warn you about all commissions;
  9. you can order a plastic or virtual card (and pay with it like a regular bank card).

Yandex money

A very popular payment system on the Internet in our country. It differs primarily in its simple registration and use. In addition, the fact that one of the most popular search engines Yandex supports the system also contributes to its popularity.

Payment for the order: please note that Yandex gives some kind of guarantee that your purchase will be delivered to you (otherwise you can dispute it and return your funds)

Main advantages:

WebMoney

One of the oldest, most popular and multifunctional payments on the Internet (appeared in 1998, even many banks have gone into oblivion during this past difficult time, but WebMoney lives and develops). It has a number of unique services for its purposes, tk. say, the flagship in Internet payments 👌.

Main advantages:

  1. accepted in most online stores (the most widespread);
  2. works in many countries of the World (wide distribution in the CIS);
  3. wallets can be in different currencies: Russian rubles, Belarusian, hryvnia, dollars, and even bitcoins! You can convert currencies from one to another using your own exchange (the percentage is minimal);
  4. one of the highest levels of security (this is not found anywhere else!): spec. application for PC and smartphones, key file, password for access to the application and key file, work with ENUM. WebMoney also provides certificates and BL (a kind of rating of honesty and respect) for each of the participants. This also encourages honest and open work;

  6. instant transfers within the system;

  9. the ability to conduct transactions (protected!);
  10. easy and fast payment for a communal apartment, cable TV, Internet, mobile phone and much more (all in one article cannot be described - this is a very multifunctional payment system with constantly expanding capabilities!).

PayPal

One of the most popular payment systems in the World, more than 200 million registered people at the time of publication of the article! Payment, of course, is not yet so widespread in Russia (it came to us not so long ago), but abroad it is used in the vast majority of online stores and services.

One of the main advantages of the system is the ease of transfer, it is enough to know only the e-mail of the participant, and you can send money to him! Moreover, PayPal guarantees the safety of your funds, and gives a certain time (up to 180 days) to dispute the transaction (for example, you ordered something on the Internet, but you were deceived and the goods were not provided - PayPal will refund your money!).

Main advantages:

  1. the widest distribution in the World - if you want to receive a money transfer from abroad, there is nothing easier than with PayPal (just the same QIWI hardly anyone knows there);
  2. high level of security;
  3. the possibility of challenging the transaction (return of funds);
  4. there is a mobile application (and, by the way, very convenient!);
  5. instant transfer of funds from account to account;
  6. protection of your bank card on the Internet - it is not visible anywhere when paying (the card is linked to your PayPal account and upon purchase, the money from the card goes through this payment system. That is, no online store will recognize your personal data from the card).

Rapida

Rapida is a popular Russian payment system designed mainly to pay for various services: utilities, telephone, Internet access, loans, etc.

It should be noted that the popularity of the system is somewhat lower than that of WebMoney or Yandex money (apparently due to the fact that the original system was aimed at working with large companies: utilities, banks, search engines etc.), but recently Rapida wins back a part of the market...

You can replenish your wallet in Rapida using terminals, banks, plastic cards, such operators as Euroset, Svyaznoy, Technosila.

Key Features:

  1. payment of loans regardless of the work schedule of your bank - Rapida will transfer everything urgently at any time of the day;

W1 (single wallet)

"W1" aka "Wallet One" (or "Wallet One") is an electronic payment system designed to combine all Internet payments in a single wallet.

The wallet works with many countries, including: Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, etc. It is distinguished by its close integration with mobile phones (in the same Viber, you can now view the account balance and manage it), and low commissions for transfers and replenishment accounts.

  6. it is possible to exchange messages between users of W1 wallets;
  7. tight integration with mobile (tight integration with Viber).

[email protected]

A fairly convenient service for transferring money from card to card and between users registered in this payment system. To transfer money from one to another - it is enough to know only the e-mail address. Agree, convenient?!

In general, while the service is not so popular, but over time it should gain momentum due to the large audience of Mail.ru.

Main advantages:

  1. money on the wallet in the system - stored in Raiffeisenbank (which gives greater reliability);
  2. it is not necessary to install any additional programs;
  3. the ability to quickly and with a minimum commission transfer money from card to card;
  4. your bank card is easily and quickly linked to the account, and then you can not show it when making online payments;
  5. many ways to replenish the account: QIWI, ATMs, bank transfers, using cards, etc.
  6. high security of the wallet and transfers (to transfer money, you need to enter a payment password). After the termination of work with the service, after 15 minutes. access to the wallet is automatically closed.

Perhaps, from the minuses, one can single out the fact that the system can only work with rubles. Also, a rather weak prevalence in Russia (and its complete absence abroad).

Few people can imagine life without electronic money. With their help, you can make purchases in online stores, pay bills, purchase tickets, transfer funds from one card to another with a lower percentage. What are the most popular payment systems? A list of them is presented below.

List of payment systems

Many liked the idea of paying their expenses with electronic money. The main goal that payment systems fulfill (the list will be presented later) is an instant settlement with a bank or a merchant. Now there are many electronic resources, but not all of them inspire enthusiasm and trust among the majority of citizens. So, here are the most popular domestic and international payment systems:

  • "Yandex money";
  • "Mail.ru.Money";
  • webmoney;
  • PayPal;
  • Visa;
  • Mastercard;
  • "Peace";
  • perfect money;
  • money mail;
  • "PRO100";
  • qiwi;
  • Alipay.

This is not a complete list of services for calculating electronic money. But they are most often used by clients. Below is the TOP-5 systems that have won the trust of consumers.

"Yandex money"

In the Russian Federation it is considered the most famous. The main currency is the ruble, but this did not affect the great popularity among the population. It is distressing that Yandex.Money does not allow its customers to pay for goods and services abroad. However, Russian online stores prefer domestic electronic payment systems. According to statistics, Yandex.Money occupies a leading position in paying for services and goods on the World Wide Web in the vastness of the motherland.

The advantages of this system include the possibility of replenishing the account by transferring funds from an individual. In addition, the undoubted advantage is a simple and intuitive functionality.

webmoney

International payment systems, such as Webmoney, are also in demand. Such a service offers to make payments in various currencies. However, the high reliability of the system does not compensate for the difficulties in registration. That is why many beginners prefer to turn to another service “for help”. High security for clients is an important aspect when making financial transactions. This is exactly what Webmoney guarantees.

Let the service have many advantages, but popularity abroad is not as high as in Russia and the CIS countries. According to many users who refused to use this system, here is a very inconvenient currency exchange process. Safe payment systems, the list of which is presented and which includes Webmoney, must sacrifice convenience in the name of the reliability of money transactions.

PayPal

The oldest one has also entered the most popular electronic payment systems. This is PayPal. It was founded in 1998. The advantages of the service include a variety of currencies with which you can conduct monetary transactions. In total there are about 24 species. According to experts, PayPal is used in 190 countries around the world. By the way, it is this service that customers prefer to use when paying for orders in foreign online stores. In addition, it is rare that a virtual auction is complete without payment by PayPal.

Why is this system so popular? Its high reliability and convenient functionality won the hearts of millions of users. The disadvantages of customers include the impossibility of entering their personal data. Also, not all countries accept electronic money from PayPal.

"Peace"

In 2014, the government of the Russian Federation decided to create a service completely independent of Visa and MasterCard. The reason for this decision was the imposition of sanctions on domestic enterprises and banks. This is how the national payment system "Mir" (NPS) appeared. It has been carefully designed to provide convenience, accessibility and reliability for transactions for all residents of Russia. The service belongs to the Central Bank of the country. NPS developers guarantee the uninterrupted and secure conduct of various types of transactions on bank cards. Thanks to the Mir service, you can perform typical operations, namely:

  • cash withdrawal;
  • making mobile and contactless payments;
  • payment for purchases in retail chains.

The main advantage of the NPS is the impossibility of the situation in the international arena to influence the current state of affairs. Accordingly, Russian citizens need not worry about access to their savings and funds to pay for services and goods.

Visa

Visa is a payment system widely used in America and Australia. If you try to pay with this card in Europe, then sometimes there may be problems with the terminal, since here they prefer to use a direct competitor of MasterCard. However, according to statistics, 70% of customers use Visa's service, while only 30% use its "rival".

To date, this card is accepted in 166,000 locations throughout Russia and 36,000 ATMs. In 200 countries around the world are ready to accept Visa for payment. This service is really considered the largest and most famous.

Clients of the system can order one of the types (or all types) of Visa:

  • Visa Electron;
  • Visa Classic;
  • Visa Gold;
  • Visa Platinum.

The presence of so many types of cards allows us to attribute this fact to the indisputable advantages of the system. Thanks to this, you can quickly make purchases, order tickets and immediately pay for them.

As already mentioned, the payment systems, the list of which was presented in this article, are very convenient for carrying out typical financial transactions. However, experts recommend not to keep all savings in in electronic format because now there are a lot of scammers on the Internet.

1. What trends in the use and development of payment instruments could you note in recent years?

Marat Abasaliev, pay online
Before the crisis, we experienced a steady growth in card payments - buyers began to trust online shopping more and finally appreciated the convenience and benefits of online shopping.

One of the fundamentally new technologies is the introduction of contactless payments. International payment systems have introduced Visa payWave and MasterCard PayPass, which allow one-touch payments in POS-terminals in supermarkets and shops. Also, one cannot fail to note the first confident steps of world payment systems in the field of electronic wallets - V.ME from Visa, MasterPass from MasterCard. They allow you to combine several payment instruments under one "pay" button.

Do not forget about the growth of payments from mobile devices (smartphones and tablets). According to PayOnline, in 2015, almost 40% of online shoppers made purchases from mobile devices, and in 2016, judging by the trend, more than half of payments will be made on smartphones and tablets.

P2p transfers continue to gain popularity, including through social networks and instant messengers. Many users still have doubts about the security of transferring money through messages, however, data encryption is reaching a new level - instant messengers are starting to fight for the title of the “most secure” method of communication, so we can expect that this method of money transfers will soon become quite familiar deed.

Sergey Belyaev, RFI Bank
There are not so many main trends. Firstly, business goes online: communication with customers in a language they understand and on a platform they are used to. Moreover, offline does not die, but is integrated into this process. Secondly, the growth in the use of contactless payments, especially in super- and hypermarkets. Not only is it fashionable, it cuts down on cash registers by a few seconds. And a second on one client is already a big plus. Thirdly, the spread of mobile card readers, pinpads and other things. A small device allows you to accept a card wherever a smartphone can go online!

Igor Nazarov, Shopolog
In recent years, a number of trends have been stably maintained: the growth of sales via mobile phones, the increase in the share of non-cash payments, the entry into the electronic payment market of companies that have never provided financial services before, and the simplification of tariff scales.

Among the latest trends, one can single out an increased demand for customization (niche solutions) of payment services for various online stores (small, medium, large; with a call center, offline representation, subscription sales, etc.).

Maria Mikhailova, National Payments Council
Using payment cards for settlements, not for cash withdrawals. In 2015, people were 41.5% more likely to use a card to pay for goods and services than in 2014 (according to the Bank of Russia). An increasing role in the development of infrastructure is played not by its traditional components that provide offline interaction, but by online payments: on the Internet and using mobile phones. There is currently no independent data that would allow seeing not only the state of the national payment system at the macro level, but also tracking consumer payment behavior.

Dmitry Spiridonov, Cloud Payments
The trend is everything related to mobile phones. Recurring and recurrent payments, an adaptive form for any device, linking a card to NFC technology, custom solutions for online business, without dependence on payment systems and PCI DSS.

Vyacheslav Fedorov e-MoneyNews
Over the past 2 years, there have been investments in payment technologies related to QR codes, mobile payment via NFC solutions, the use of an account with a telecom operator as a source of payment for small amounts of transactions both online and offline.

Vitaly Tsigulev, Digital Finance
Firstly, the entry of many fintech startups into the market, their confrontation and partnership with traditional banks. For example, in the field of accepting payments on websites, banks have long lost ground to Internet companies. According to some studies, only 10% of merchants have direct access to accepting payments through a bank, while the rest work with payment gateways or payment aggregators. But in the Russian realities of very careful regulation of all processes related to money, it is rather difficult for startups to develop without being an independent bank, part of it, or an NPO. Secondly, perhaps the main trend is the blockchain (a chain of connected blocks, each of which contains a hash of the previous one and is processed on distributed servers). One of the first large-scale implementations of this technology on the Russian market was recently launched by the National Settlement Depository: the organization switched to the blockchain system of electronic voting of bond holders. So far, not everyone fully understands the technology of a distributed ledger, and how exactly it should be applied in each specific case, but listening to experts and following Western colleagues, more and more large financial organizations are starting to invest in this area.

2. What, in your opinion, are the most promising areas for further development of mobile payments? For what purposes will they be used? Who will be the main user?

Marat Abasaliev, pay online
Mobile operators will continue to try to get subscribers to use the SIM card as a payment instrument. Here we foresee serious competition with Apple Pay, a technology that allows wearable devices and smartphones to be used as a full-fledged means of payment for both online and offline payments. In pursuit of Apple, players appear that provide a similar opportunity to pay via NFC together with Internet payments. In terms of functionality, Apple devices and their competitors are on the same level. The choice of users will depend on additional options, price segment and, of course, the brand.

Another notable trend is e-commerce in social networks and instant messengers. You won’t surprise anyone with an online store on Vkontakte or Instagram, and until recently, these social networks acted exclusively as a showcase and a channel for communication between the seller and the buyer. Now we see solutions to turn a public or community into social network in a full-fledged online store. This is a great solution for those who have gained a customer base from subscribers over the years and can now conveniently convert it into sales without redirecting customers to the online store page.

Igor Nazarov, Shopolog
The idea of messenger applications, where you can chat, get all the necessary information and make a purchase, looks quite interesting and promising. Most recently, the chairman of the board of directors of Yulmart, Dmitry Kostygin, announced the creation of a similar messenger for the purchase of goods. With the global development of mobile technologies and messengers, it is quite possible to expect the integration of payment instruments into popular applications WhatsApp, Facebook, Viber, Telegram and others soon.

In a more complex way, mobile payments should be used in conjunction with other important elements of e-commerce - loyalty, special offers and rewards.

Maria Mikhailova, National Payments Council
First of all mobile phone will replace bank self-service terminals. Secondly, the phone becomes a material carrier for a bank card. The less effort required from a person to “turn” a payment card into a “phone”, the more likely it is that payments for small amounts and made in a “rush” will be made by a “phone”. This is payment for business lunches, taxis, everyday purchases. The third is payments using funds on the account of the telecom operator. Mobile communications, parking, p2p transfers.

Dmitry Spiridonov, Cloud Payments
The tourist segment, air tickets, carsharing, medical services is gaining momentum.

Vyacheslav Fedorov e-MoneyNews
Mobile payments are different from each other, and each type is promising in its own market segment. First, mobile payments, which allow payers to operate a subscriber account with telecom operator, and are used for payments both on various sites (games, online cinemas, online stores) and offline (vending machines, TV shows, paid parking lots, etc.). Secondly, mobile payments, which use a bank account as a source of money, and an NFC chip as a payment interface. The latter allows you to use a fairly extensive payment network of Visa and MasterCard, built thanks to the banking network for receiving payments (shops, transport, vending machines, etc.).

Most mobile tools are now used by "innovators", and in some segments by the so-called "early adopters". The main increase in demand from the "early majority" will be later. One of the growth drivers will be betting companies that have been allowed to collect bets via the Internet, providing their services online.

Vitaly Tsigulev, Digital Finance
An important trend is the emergence of mobile payment systems such as Apple Pay, Android Pay, Samsung Pay. I would not write about this if it were not for three events that took place one after the other with approximately equal intervals. First, Samsung announced the launch of its payment service in Russia in the middle of this year, then information was leaked that Apple was in talks with leading Russian banks to launch its wallet at the end of 2016, and then Yandex.Money announced that now you can pay using NFC, using MasterCard Cloud-Based Payments (MCBP) technology directly from mobile application and accounts in your Yandex.Money account.

3. What are the main restraining factors for the growth of the payment instruments market and possible ways fight them?

Marat Abasaliev, pay online
All attention is now riveted to the banking sector. Acquiring banks, direct participants in processing, processing payments, are currently experiencing a stronger influence of the regulator represented by the Central Bank of Russia. Those processors and payment aggregators who, in pursuit of profit, have chosen less reliable banks as partners, giving more “interesting” commission rates, today risk being left without acquiring banks at all. At the moment when the bank loses its license, the payment aggregator rushes in search of a new partner, but even a week-long downtime leads to an outflow of customers. The concentration of players is growing, the market is monopolizing, and online stores are the first to suffer - they go to new payment partners on different terms and again spend time and money connecting to a new partner. The current crisis is causing the e-commerce market to take a step back - merchants are leaning back in favor of cash payments, reducing their costs.

The solution that will be most effective at the moment is a constructive dialogue between the Central Bank, the Electronic Money Association and professional market participants. The market of payment instruments still has a long way to go - it is necessary to simplify and optimize many processes, but due to the influence of many third-party factors, this is not as fast and easy as everyone would like.

Sergey Belyaev, RFI Bank
The main limiting factor in the growth of the quantity and quality of tools is the incomplete understanding of these tools on the part of users. It is indicative that the majority of Russians withdraw money from their salary cards on the very first day of their accrual. And we should rather not fight this, but work with the population in order to help, remove objections and explain all the advantages.

Igor Nazarov, Shopolog
Currently, there are no particular deterrents that can fundamentally affect the payment instruments industry. Retail and payment solutions go hand in hand, the development of the former necessarily affects the latter. The desire to provide a quality product and service is always rewarded with a sale. The same applies to payment solutions - how convenient, understandable, profitable the service is, so it is in demand.

Maria Mikhailova, National Payments Council
It is more correct to speak about the growth of non-cash turnover. The concept of the market is redundant in relation to payment instruments. A payment tool is just a way to initiate a payment and, by and large, it doesn’t matter how exactly this happens: a person inserts a card into a POS terminal or a kettle itself generates debits of funds to pay for the energy they consumed according to a given algorithm.

Non-cash turnover should be recognized as a priority of economic policy. Only then will it be possible to use the obvious advantage of non-cash payment: the electronic nature, ensuring its full transparency, which is not used today. A cashless payment will become economically beneficial due to paperless interaction with the buyer and regulatory authorities, reducing the cost of administering payments, and other things. This will give impetus to the development of all forms of payment instruments. The payment instruments segment must be extremely competitive. Only tough market competition in this area will provide the consumer with the quality and security of payment services. And the third important component - it is necessary to build a modern infrastructure for identifying payers. Anonymous payments will quickly become a thing of the past.

Dmitry Spiridonov, Cloud Payments
First, payment technologies with innovative solutions are difficult for small and medium-sized e-commerce businesses. Large, historically established players in the payment market do not undertake to solve the needs of newly created projects, start-ups, small and medium-sized companies, especially without a confirmed turnover. Or solve them not fully and for an additional fee.

Secondly, large e-commerce businesses do not have a simple solution that allows them to independently manage their payment infrastructure without obtaining a PCI DSS security certificate. At the same time, any need to change the payment solution (customization, design, placement, field adjustment, etc.) requires the execution of a separate TOR, followed by labor-intensive implementation on the side of the payment service.

Thirdly, the low conversion rate of payments. The reason lies in many details, including cumbersome anti-fraud protection settings, rules on the side of the payment service itself, as well as an outdated and incorrect payment process algorithm: with extra fields, steps, transitions, etc.

Fourthly, the lack of a complete set of payment instruments in one solution for accepting bank cards online, with 100% confirmed working cases. Often, the technical capabilities declared by existing payment services are not implemented in practice, or are only at the development stage.

Finally, existing processing centers do not have modern fault-tolerance technologies, while abroad they are constantly being developed and implemented, in world experience this is a constant trend.

Vyacheslav Fedorov e-MoneyNews
A deterrent is the unwillingness of a large number of business (retail) players to switch to full transparency of their activities. They continue to evade taxes by accepting cash.

Over the past 1.5 years, the Central Bank and Rosfinmonitoring have greatly reduced the level of "cashing out", which stimulated the growth of non-cash mutual settlements. In addition, the Central Bank, the banking sector, Visa, MasterCard and NSPK payment systems, as well as telecom operators are actively popularizing electronic payment instruments, both by engaging in educational activities and marketing activities, and by introducing legislative restrictions on working with cash.

4. Are there any difficulties with changing the consumer habits of users when introducing new technological solutions to payment instruments, and if so, which ones? What methods are used to influence the end user to change his habits?

Marat Abasaliev, pay online
While understanding the technology is getting easier - new solutions involve intuitive interfaces, then trust can still be a problem. UX has become one of the “pillars” on which payment innovations are based, sometimes it is enough to press one button to make a purchase. But the security of data and its protection from intruders and not only are questioned.

In order to convince the buyer to pay in one way or another, it is necessary, firstly, to give him as much as possible full information about what protects him, and secondly, to enlist the support of partners - well-known brands. If a customer sees that their favorite world-famous store offers to pay in a new way that many other customers have tried, most likely, their trust will grow. In addition, technology dictates its own terms, for example, if you trust biometric data (fingerprints) when locking your smartphone, then you are more likely to be ready to pay in the same way.

Igor Nazarov, Shopolog
The habit of using one or another payment instrument can be developed only with frequent positive experience, both one's own and the user's close circle of communication. Wide distribution of the solution, confidence in a successful transaction, high-quality support - all this contributes to a change in user preferences.

Another important factor is the channels and formats for delivering information about new technological solutions. Statistics show that young people aged 18–25 are most actively trying out new services and solutions. This factor must be taken into account when promoting the service.

Maria Mikhailova, National Payments Council
They arise, but they do not carry any special marketing specifics. The peculiarity of payment services lies in a slightly different plane. Cashless payment competes with cash payment not only at the level of consumer choice, but also at the "corporate" level. What benefit will the store receive from accepting new payment instruments for payment? What benefit will the company receive if the accountable funds are transferred to cards, and not issued in cash? As soon as the real economic feasibility is found - and these can be a variety of motives, from strategic and image to reducing the cost of document management - solving the problem of consumer habits becomes a matter of competent marketing.

Dmitry Spiridonov, Cloud Payments
This question should be asked to online stores. They make a management decision on any implementation of anything because it is their user audience. She trusts, first of all, the online store, and they know how to communicate with her.

Vyacheslav Fedorov e-MoneyNews
According to the indicators of the Central Bank, it can be seen that consumers are increasingly using cards as a means of payment and transfer. This indicates a gradual change in the minds of the consumer and a decrease in distrust in this payment instrument.

The growth rate of non-cash payments is reduced by fraudsters who open one-day companies (travel industry, Forex market players, builders of financial pyramids, etc.), collect payments through their websites and disappear. Cybercriminals also cause very irreparable damage to trust in electronic means of payment.

5. In your opinion, will biometric authentication methods be developed and, if so, in what time frame? What are the main obstacles to this?

Marat Abasaliev, pay online
Biometric authentication methods are already being developed. A few decades ago, such technologies were more of a fantasy than a way of life, but today we quietly hand over fingerprints when applying for tourist visas, and schoolchildren pay for lunch using Ladoshka, a Sberbank biometric service launched last year.

The main obstacles to biometrics are defensive psychology and outdated technology. First, users do not want their biometric data to end up in common databases. Even those who do not plan to become an international criminal and hide from intelligence agencies do not like the idea of getting into a corporate database and losing the ability to maintain privacy, because changing prints or capillary patterns is much more difficult than changing a SIM card or a servicing bank.

Outdated technology is also a challenge in the small and medium b2c segment. A great example of a massive market transition to new technologies is how American retail outlets have been moving to smart card-enabled POS terminals for many years. So it is too early to talk about the mass transition of users to biometrics. But we are confident that projects will appear one after another, with increasing frequency, and the biometric authentication technology itself will become commonplace within 5-7 years.

Sergey Belyaev, RFI Bank
Will receive. Undoubtedly. For example, what is a bank card? It is a way of identifying a person. It is natural to expect that identification should be simplified. Why do I need crutches in the form of a card, passport or other identifier for the identification process? Perhaps soon it will be possible to pay for purchases by blinking, shaking an electronic hand or something else. What prevents this? Technology and habit.

Igor Nazarov, Shopolog
Paying with an Alibaba selfie) or a fingerprint (Samsung) and so on are still technologies that require serious improvements. Transaction security is the main condition for a payment instrument. So far, these technologies can be considered as some kind of prototypes, on the basis of which, in the future, the infrastructure for biometric authentication when making online payments may be built.

Maria Mikhailova, National Payments Council
This is an obvious trend in the development of the institution of identification and authentication. The main barriers are in the socio-cultural plane. This is the area in which in no case should advance development of technologies be allowed in relation to the “mental” or “social” readiness to use them. The implementation process must proceed carefully and gradually. It is important that both the methods of contesting the results of identification and the methods of protecting the individual develop in parallel. But, apparently, the necessary methods will be developed first in areas not related to payments, perhaps, for example, in medicine.

Dmitry Spiridonov, Cloud Payments
Yes. There is a very cool technology created by Sberbank. Palm payment. By the end of 2017, it will be distributed in the same way as PayPass.

Vyacheslav Fedorov e-MoneyNews
Already, various types of biometric authentication (fingerprint, face, voice, palm capillary pattern recognition) are being implemented around the world, and examples of these projects can be found. These are investment projects. And only market leaders with sufficient funds to develop and implement these technologies can afford to implement these solutions during a crisis. As with cards, the market will have to get used to new ways of accessing finance or information.

6. How do you assess the influence of the state on the market of payment instruments?

Marat Abasaliev, pay online
First, it is the regulator of the Central Bank of Russia. Secondly, this is the influence of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications - the requirement to place servers on the territory of the Russian Federation has greatly influenced e-commerce in our country. Thirdly, do not forget about the state initiative aimed at protecting Russian buyers from the so-called "sanctions" from international payment systems, namely the introduction of the national payment card system "Mir". As a result, we can see the global influence of the state on the market of payment instruments, although many nuances and minor points are still in question and can be interpreted in two ways from the point of view of the law.

Igor Nazarov, Shopolog
In the last year, the government has been paying close attention to Internet business and online payments: a lot of initiatives and bills, some of which are seriously worrying industry representatives. For example, a draft law on new rules that apply to cash registers (transition to online cash registers). At the same time, the authorities are planning to seriously toughen the responsibility for trading without cash registers. I don't think it's just a coincidence.

During the first quarter of 2016, the Central Bank revoked licenses from 37 banks. Naturally, this fact makes entrepreneurs play it safe by connecting two or more payment solutions, choose partners more carefully, study the market, because, as practice shows, even the most well-known solution can have problems.

Maria Mikhailova, National Payments Council
The influence of the state on the level of non-cash payments and the payment services market is always great. The state is one of the main beneficiaries of the high share of non-cash payments.

If we are talking specifically about payment instruments, then the legislatively fixed division of payment instruments into nationally significant and all the rest does not seem to be the most effective tool for the development of the Russian payment industry.

Dmitry Spiridonov, Cloud Payments
Not at all. I do not see any positive involvement of the state in e-commerce, as, for example, it is done in the USA. I also do not see any participation that is harmful.

7. What positive and negative consequences can the introduction of a wide circulation of cryptocurrency entail? What are the prospects for the development of blockchain technologies?

Marat Abasaliev, pay online
As German Gref noted several years ago, “cryptocurrencies are a very interesting international experiment that breaks the paradigm of currency emission.” Nevertheless, today Russia is one of the most unfavorable jurisdictions for users of cryptocurrencies in the world: in addition to a ban on their use, the possibility of introducing criminal liability for the use of cryptocurrencies is being discussed.

From the point of view of the state and society, the possible negative consequences of using cryptocurrencies are the risk of their use in the trade in drugs, weapons, forged documents and other criminal activities, as well as for the legalization of proceeds from crime, the financing of terrorism and the uncontrolled cross-border transfer of funds and their subsequent cashing out. The strengths of cryptocurrencies are obvious: complete decentralization, independence from the political and economic situation in the world, unprecedented security of payments, system stability due to the growing distribution of capacities. It is also worth noting that bitcoins are just a convenient payment tool in the modern world. And it is up to everyone to decide whether to use this tool for good or for evil.

Blockchain is a very interesting and promising technology that could help solve a number of problems relevant to Russian fintech. But due to the ban on the issue and use of cryptocurrencies in Russia, it is also impossible to create Russian products built using this technology. This limitation is due to the fact that today only the Bitcoin blockchain is truly secure, having both huge computing power and a relatively even distribution of “miners” who are responsible for computing complex keys.

Igor Nazarov, Shopolog
With the widespread adoption of blockchain technologies, the traditional financial services market may undergo major changes. Moreover, the question of the expediency of the existence of banks and other services will be raised.

The Central Bank unequivocally voiced its position regarding the blockchain: “We are for the technology with all hands, but against monetary surrogates.” However, the introduction of technology requires a deep study of all the details and the creation of a legislative framework. At the moment, there is still a lot of work to be done to make this vision a reality.

As for the cryptocurrency, the market adapts to the consumer, and the consumer is now looking with interest towards everything new. With a positive decision of the regulator, a serious push is needed for the wide popularization of cryptocurrency, associated not only with its introduction as a payment method, but also with extensive information support.

Dmitry Spiridonov, Cloud Payments
Cryptocurrency will have an impulse life. In Russia, it will definitely never be introduced. Blockchain technology is cool. In some form, they will definitely be applied.

Vyacheslav Fedorov e-MoneyNews
Now they are trying not only to consider the use of blockchain technology, but also to actively implement it in many projects. Blockchain technology avoids the inconspicuous change of information and documents, and this will help many industries when working with information online.

Records in the blockchain are decentralized, stored on different computers and are verified by the network participants, and not by the controlling authority.

Vitaly Tsigulev, Digital Finance
Blockchain, Bitcoin and smart contracts are by far one of the most promising areas in modern payment technologies. It would be more correct for Russian legislators to regulate the circulation of cryptocurrencies instead of a ban, the implementation of which cannot be controlled. Moreover, cryptocurrencies and blockchain are very interconnected, and often any blockchain project has its own internal currency for settlements. And it is not yet clear how to deal with the position of the Central Bank in this situation, according to which the blockchain is good, and cryptocurrencies (money surrogates) are bad.

8. Are you aware of upcoming mergers/acquisitions of players in this market? Are radical changes in the current market situation possible? What could be the external reasons for this?

Marat Abasaliev, pay online
It is unlikely that we will see radical changes in the next couple of years. Competition from banks is too strong, there are several really large players on the market, and there are many small ones that have appeared due to low entry thresholds. There is a trend towards dumping - only the leaders can afford it, so the market may thin out - small businesses are unlikely to be able to keep low prices for a long time during the crisis. Of course, consolidation is needed. Most likely, in the struggle for market share for the purpose of synergy, it will take place among large players, and this is justified.

Igor Nazarov, Shopolog
There is a high probability that there will be mergers and acquisitions. The market is aggressive and forces to develop, sometimes faster than the company can afford. If this happens, then a choice arises - to go into niche solutions or continue development, but already, perhaps, in the team of a former competitor.

The situation is also fueled by competition between payment systems and acquiring banks, which are now actively developing their client divisions and are starting to connect large companies directly.

Dmitry Spiridonov, Cloud Payments
There will always be changes. The most dynamic ones, working for high quality service, will set the trend and keep the “old men” of the market from relaxing.

Vyacheslav Fedorov e-MoneyNews
Some mergers / acquisitions are now taking place as a result of the strengthening of the positions of banks in new niches for them. In some cases, the situation has developed in such a way that the payment system was left without an institutional foundation (the license was revoked / reorganization of the bank) and was forced to look for a strong partner and promptly conduct a transaction so as not to lose market share.

9. How does the Russian market reflect the changes taking place on the world market?

Marat Abasaliev, pay online
In terms of technology, the Russian market is not lagging behind, and often ahead of, the developed markets of Europe and North America. So we can confidently say that Runet responds to the technological challenges of the global fintech quickly and with dignity.

But there are issues that business does not have the opportunity to influence - these are state regulation and financial conditions of international payment systems. We have already talked about the regulation of cryptocurrencies, so we will not dwell on this issue.

An important difference of the Russian market is the financial policy of international payment systems. Unlike Europe, where the size of the interchange fee [interchange fee] is gradually decreasing, in Russia it “hung” at the same level. Today, we do not yet have data on the conditions that the Russian payment system Mir will offer players in the Russian e-commerce market, but we assume that the pricing logic itself will differ from the logic of VISA and MasterCard, and the cost for business is unlikely to be significantly lower.

Igor Nazarov, Shopolog
The devaluation of the ruble and the rise in price of most goods in 2015 gave a new round of development for cross-border trade. Large Chinese companies are gaining a foothold in the Russian market, thereby forcing out intermediaries. Regular mass discount promotions provide them with high consumer demand and wide media coverage.

Maria Mikhailova, National Payments Council
One of the global trends is finding the right balance between the global nature of payments and the need to maintain local control over them. This trend is also relevant for the Russian market. The bottom line is finding the right balance. It is important not to reflect the changes taking place in the world market, but to be a part of this market and a source of change.

Dmitry Spiridonov, Cloud Payments
We have an amazing country, and this does not allow 100% to talk about the reflection and application of something new from the world market. A lot of things don't stick. A simple example - 3D-secure is not used in America the way it is done in 99% of cases in Russia.

Vyacheslav Fedorov e-MoneyNews
The Internet and the current situation with the ruble exchange rate allow us to enter global sales markets and sell goods or provide services while being in the Russian Federation. Now is the time to seize the opportunity that has arisen.

10. Is it possible, in your opinion, to significantly reduce the share of cash use due to the transition to cashless payments? What are the main deterrents to this?

Marat Abasaliev, pay online
Now the crisis is still playing against non-cash payments, so we cannot talk about a really significant decrease in the share of using cash. Yes, there is certainly an increase in online payments, but in the next couple of years it will be rather inorganic due to an increase in cardholders and an increase in Internet penetration in the country. In addition, the implementation of the Mir payment system requires technical improvements to payment systems, which will take time. Most likely, Mir’s functionality in the first year will be limited to cash withdrawals, and this will also become a deterrent to the development of online payments.

Sergey Belyaev, RFI Bank
Cash will someday almost completely disappear or be reborn, as is the case with paper books. With the rapid development of the Internet and technology, they predicted the death of the book, but death did not happen. Books have become more expensive, more beautiful, more prestigious. Paper and metal money will also be reborn.

Igor Nazarov, Shopolog
The increase in the share of cashless payments on the Internet occurs every year. This process is slow, but growth is stable. Moreover, the growth occurs not only in bank cards, but also in the use of mobile devices for payment, and payment systems. There is a high probability that in large cities cashless payments will dominate over cash in a few years.

However, there are a number of factors that slow down growth: low levels of financial literacy, fear of losing control over spending, fear of fraud. As a rule, these factors are most noticeable in small and medium-sized cities.

Maria Mikhailova, National Payments Council
Cashless payment should have obvious advantages over cash. Like a mobile phone before a landline. Due to its nature, non-cash payment is a hostage of indirect regulation, those barriers that arise at the junctions of regulation, both in various industries and in various spheres of economic life. If the level of non-cash payments is not a direct priority of the state policy, then there is only one way to remove these barriers: industry analysis, the formation of an industrial position on each key constraining factor, making changes.

Felix Muchnik, soft key
A decrease in shopping activity leads to a search for more economical and budget-friendly places to shop. And such places quite reasonably become online stores, where digital content is the very inexpensive, but necessary product for the consumer. What we see: there is a product, there is money to purchase it, but there is no education for the mass consumption of legal digital content and the use of non-cash payment methods when buying goods and services in online stores. Yes, a lot of work has already been done in the field of introducing customers to plastic cards, but there is still a very wide stratum of those who choose cash. And this very education should be done by banks and small businesses, creating special conditions for the transition to cashless payments and making payments as convenient and inconspicuous as possible for the user, thereby developing in him the habit of precisely this method of payment.

A good example of creating such conditions is the Yandex.Taxi application. In it, we simply link our card through a mobile device and use taxi services, and we do it on more favorable terms than those who choose cash. Thanks to such a system, we can talk about an increase in the number of payments for plastic. A person begins to understand how convenient such a system is, and eventually uses it automatically. In addition, the application has an excellent service - the ability to pay tips for the driver also using a cashless payment. This is an amazingly simple and incredibly convenient thing, which, in my opinion, should be implemented in any service industry. And first of all - in cash receipts of restaurants. Why has this practice become the norm around the world for a long time, and we are still engaged in the promotion of cash? After all, non-cash payments are easier to control, and they calmly move into the taxable zone.

Another excellent and relatively recent example is that of Utkonos. As soon as banks were allowed to hold money on cards, Utkonos provided its couriers with devices - terminals for instant payment on the spot using cards. And this immediately significantly reduced all sorts of inconveniences that could arise for both the buyer and the seller: a variable amount of payment when paying for the goods, the lack of cash for payment, the lack of change from the courier, the lack of the temptation to “not deliver” the received cash, etc. The more opportunities there are to pay with plastic or any other non-cash payment method, the faster the refusal of cash will be carried out. And this growth should be ensured, as mentioned above, by banks and small enterprises. Yes, the portal of public services accustoms the inhabitants of our country to non-cash payments, the percentage is undoubtedly growing, but the process would develop much more dynamically if, along with this, the provision from banks and enterprises would also develop.
Let's not go far and remember the example of buying air tickets, which became the first serious purchases by non-cash payment. People, having tried it once, began to actively use this method in the future. As soon as Russian Railways introduced the possibility of purchasing tickets using non-cash payments, people actively began to purchase tickets in this way. Aeroexpress, in general, acted wonderfully, in my opinion: it offered customers to purchase tickets using non-cash payments on more favorable terms, making the cost of tickets lower than at the box office of the station.

Thus, we can state the fact that the state and consumers are the least to blame for the lack of a rapid growth in non-cash payments and plastic payments. And most of all, this should be facilitated by the enterprises themselves, introducing additional conditions for stimulation, and banks, which should stimulate non-cash payments at enterprises.

Dmitry Spiridonov, Cloud Payments
There are no limiting factors. There is a problem in the mentality of our population. The cache will die. If Central Russia pays quietly on the Internet, then the population to the right of the Ural Mountains is only learning not to withdraw cash from an ATM, but to buy something in a store using their bank card.
