The Highscreen brand is developing dynamically, trying to cover all available niches in the market mobile devices. So far, the share of the Russian market occupied by the company-owner of the brand has not even reached 5%, but this figure is increasing year by year.

It cannot be said that Highscreen gadgets are at the forefront of the progress of mobile technology, but they cannot be called frank outsiders either. In the middle and upper segment of the economy class devices, this brand is quite competitive.

The Russian brand Highscreen is known for devices with a capacious battery. Moreover, two batteries are supplied with some models at once, which allows you to choose between long runtime and light weight. Unfortunately, not all phones distributed by this company are of high quality. This article will talk about those devices, reviews of which are written mostly in a positive way. Buying any of the considered gadgets is unlikely to seriously disappoint.

big and cheap

The device has quite a decent amount of memory, as nothing bad can be said about the processor - a quad-core chip runs at a clock frequency of 1.45 GHz. Positions the device and . In short, this is the best choice for little money!

  • Outdated and weak processor.

Used to higher pixel density? Then you should consider buying a Highscreen Razar. The screen of this smartphone also has a modest HD resolution. But the diagonal of the display is only 5 inches, as a result of which individual pixels can only be seen under a magnifying glass.

An LCD matrix was created using technology. This means that it is able to boast of perfect color reproduction, the picture is clearly visible even on the street under bright sunlight.

Positive reviews are also written on the device for its small size and 124-gram weight. You can reach any point on the screen with your thumb, no second hand assistance is required. This design also has a negative side: the manufacturer had to install a simple battery under the back cover, the capacity of which does not exceed 2500 mAh. However, with an AMOLED display, even such a small parameter is enough for a day and a half of battery life.

Of course, it would be foolish to consider the Highscreen Razar an ideal smartphone. The 8-megapixel camera installed here does not cause feelings of admiration. You can blame the creators for the missing fingerprint scanner. Otherwise, the device fully justifies the money spent.

Advantages:

  • AMOLED screen.
  • Attractive and unusual design.
  • Separate button to launch the camera.
  • Wide angle front camera.
  • GLONASS support.

disadvantages:

  • The battery is not strong enough.

Everything is in order with the device and with wireless modules. In particular, the smartphone even received an infrared transmitter, with which you can control the TV.

Highscreen Power Five Max will definitely suit those who want to use a productive device. Under the case there is an eight-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor - the power of this chip is enough to run absolutely any games. The device also has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. For photography, a 13-megapixel camera is designed, which is only slightly inferior to modules built into gadgets from or. The smartphone turned out to be heavy, but it included a 5000 mAh battery. For most buyers, this is enough for a couple of days of autonomous operation of the device under high load.

Highscreen Boost 3 SE Pro

If you don’t want to spend a lot of money, then you can take a look at the Highscreen Boost 3 SE Pro, which is sold in Russian retail for about 12 thousand rubles. Externally, the device is very different from Chinese competitors. The fact is that the device has sharp corners, which were abandoned by almost everyone, with the exception of Sony. Another unique design has a back cover, on which you can find an atypical pattern.

As for the characteristics of the device, they are quite good. The device is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. Also under the body of the smartphone are 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of permanent memory. The picture will be displayed on a 5-inch IPS-display with Full HD resolution. The pixel density turned out to be very high, which is clearly visible in games and when watching movies.

But the main advantage of the gadget is that there are two batteries in the box at once. One has a capacity of 3100 mAh, the thickness of a smartphone with such a battery does not exceed 9 mm. The second battery has a capacity of 6900 mAh, providing a much longer run time. For such a battery, a separate cover is provided, which is also included in the kit, and the thickness of the device increases to 13.9 mm.

Perhaps the Highscreen Boost 3 SE Pro is the best choice for people who find it inconvenient to use a portable battery. And the device does a good job of taking pictures. Last but not least, thanks to the aperture of the 13-megapixel module, which opens up to f / 2.0.

Today, it is not necessary to buy the most expensive and powerful smartphone in order to enjoy the stable operation of all games and applications. If you are not ready to spend 50 thousand rubles on new Galaxy, that's all right. Enough and 17 thousand rubles to buy a faithful and reliable comrade. For some reason, it is considered that the most profitable investment is a smartphone of some Chinese company. Every month, an impressive new product comes out of China, and behind the endless wave of information about it, we forget about smartphones from other companies. But they deserve attention.

Let's arrange a comparison, a real battle. There is a company in Russia that can compete with well-known Chinese brands. Highscreen is constantly updating its line of smartphones, and every year they are getting better, more interesting, but still affordable. I was lucky enough to use , one of the company's most interesting smartphones, for several weeks, and I will share my impressions.

But since we have a battle and everything good and bad is known in comparison, in contrast to it, we will supply a smartphone from China. We will call Xiaomi the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, as their smartphones are among the brightest, most desirable and affordable. For a long time I used their Mi 4i, which means that the comparison will definitely turn out. Alas, I did not just part with my smartphone from Xiaomi. Fortunately, the format of the material will allow me to talk about its disadvantages.

Let's start from the end. I don’t know why, but it’s customary to talk about price last. At the same time for the fans Xiaomi smartphones price is the determining factor. Fortunately, almost every new product can be purchased by paying no more than 20 thousand rubles. Of course, Xiaomi has devices like Mi 5. You have to pay extra for their hardware. But in general, having 15-20 thousand rubles, you can afford any new product of the middle class. If you order it from China, you will pay less.

In the Highscreen online store, you will not be able to find a smartphone for more than 20 thousand. With similar characteristics, Xiaomi and Highscreen smartphones will cost approximately the same, and I happened to use smartphones with very similar hardware. It is worth noting that when buying smartphones from the Russian company Highscreen, you get fast delivery, service and support. When ordering a smartphone from China, you have to rely only on yourself. I'm sure if Boost 3 could be ordered on GearBest, it would be much cheaper. Today in Russia, this smartphone costs 16,990 rubles. Xiaomi Mi 4i can be purchased for 15,990 rubles.

Iron

You can talk about iron for a very long time. I will say right away that I am not a fan of hertz and cores, I am not a witness to diodes, and I do not idolize gigabytes of RAM. The hardware in my smartphone should ensure the stable operation of applications, it should not cause problems and inconvenience. My Mi 4i was running an octa-core Snapdragon 615 with 2GB of RAM. It was enough for the stable operation of any games and applications. Highscreen Boost 3 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6753. I don't see any problems with it either. Both processors cope with all tasks perfectly well.

The processor from Qualcomm has a number of advantages over MediaTek processors, but we will not talk about them right away. For now, I suggest taking a look at the brief specifications of my two smartphones and see how similar they are.

Xiaomi Mi 4i

  • Number of SIM cards: 2
  • Screen: 5" 1920x1080
  • Camera: 13 megapixels
  • CPU: octa-core Snapdragon 615
  • Memory: 16 gigabytes
  • RAM: 2 gigabytes
  • Battery capacity: 3120 mAh

Highscreen Boost 3

  • Number of SIM cards: 2
  • Screen: 5" 1920x1080
  • Camera: 13 megapixels
  • CPU: octa-core MediaTek MT6753
  • Memory: 16 gigabytes
  • RAM: 2 gigabytes
  • Battery capacity: 3000mAh + 6000mAh

Now let's go in order. Both smartphones support dual SIM and LTE. This is exactly what I need, no questions, no complaints.

Both smartphones delight the eye with an IPS FullHD display. The quality of the display is pleasing to the eye, but, in my subjective opinion, Xiaomi has a lame color reproduction. I liked the display of the Boost 3 a little more.

Time to talk about the camera. I didn't like either camera or the second one. Luckily, unlike Xiaomi, Highscreen didn't try to convince me that I would get good shots. The Boost 3's camera is good enough for capturing moments or photographing documents, but it's underwhelming. The camera of Xiaomi smartphones impresses only the employees of the company during the presentation. She receives a lot of attention, but in fact the result is worse than average. Perhaps something can be squeezed out of it with software and manual settings, but I will never wish this on a simple consumer.

I already managed to tell about the chips, which means it's time to talk about the battery. Here Highscreen is playing a foul game. They have several lines of smartphones that are famous for their battery life and capacious batteries. Highscreen Boost 3 is equipped with two batteries and replaceable covers. A standard 3000 mAh battery is enough for a day of work with a smartphone. The second 6000 mAh battery will make you forget about portable chargers forever. Listen to music, play Pokemon Go, do whatever you want with it. In a full Sunday of Pokemon Go, I was able to drain the Boost 3 Extended Battery by 50 percent.

Now let's talk about Xiaomi. 3000 mAh is enough for a smartphone, but not for a smartphone from the Chinese company Xiaomi, which eats with great appetite. Many will say that the problem is solved by flashing, but for some reason at the presentation, Xiaomi for some reason forgets to mention that their smartphones eat up the battery if you do not install custom firmware. Two SIM cards and always-on wireless connections are ready to land your smartphone in less than a day, even if you do not touch it. Many users complain about problems in the kernel, due to which Xiaomi smartphones cannot sleep. I tend to believe in the existence of these problems.

And now another dishonest move from Highscreen. I'm talking about sound. Xiaomi makes great headphones. I have their latest model. I was inspired to see special presets for each model of branded headphones in a Xiaomi smartphone. I was disappointed to find that the iPhone without all the presets plays much better.

Highscreen Boost 3 for 16,990 rubles plays better than the iPhone or any other smartphone for 50, 60 and 70 thousand rubles. This is a merit of the company's work with a talented engineer. Highscreen has worked on both software and hardware. The result is impressive. My colleague has already told about the sound of Boost 3. I can only add from myself that every flagship should sound like this, but only the flagship of Highscreen sounds like this.

Design and materials

But enough about iron. A smartphone should be pleasing to the eye, comfortable in the hand, durable and attractive. All this can be said about Xiaomi smartphones. They are thin and attractive. They are durable and well made. I was not at all ashamed to take my very inexpensive Xiaomi out of my pocket, because it looks great. Even the plastic body looks and feels very good. After several drops, I was able to verify its reliability.

Alas, the flagship device from Highscreen looks very simple both in terms of design and thanks to the materials used. When I took the Boost 3 out of my pocket to switch tracks, I thought, "I took it out because it sounds great." With a thick battery and an extra back cover, it looks even a little more interesting. It seems reliable, but it's not. Plastic does not inspire confidence. The back cover is made in such a way that if you are going to change it often, the buttons will quickly fall out of it.

I'm exaggerating a little and most likely the Highscreen will last you a long time, but make me forget everything I know about this smartphone and I would walk past the window with it, stopping at the window with beautiful Xiaomi smartphones. Yes, I love my eyes too and I hope that Highscreen will work on the design of future smartphones.

Operating system and software

And I would like to end with the most interesting. Why did I give up Xiaomi smartphones? Because this company makes cool hardware, attractive design, and then spoils it all with terrible software. MIUI looks attractive, but the bugs in it are not fixed, but everything works disgustingly. they don't know how to work in the background, Bluetooth devices are always forgotten and fall off, battery power disappears before our eyes, and there is no hope of an update that can fix everything. New Xiaomi smartphones are coming out very quickly. Even faster, the company forgets about smartphones released earlier. I won’t even talk about various Chinese services that no one will use. They work, most likely, just as well as MIUI.

The Highscreen firmware is pure Android without a shell. The smartphone has only a couple of music applications installed. As you can guess, everything works much more stable, and bugs are fixed over time. As for the Android update, both smartphones run on Android Lollipop, so far no one has stuttered about Marshmallow. This is not so important when the smartphone is stable, and stability is not Xiaomi's forte. Rumor has it that smartphones with MediaTek processors are updated more slowly, and the software does not work on them all. There were no problems with applications, and as for updates, the only smartphone under 20 thousand rubles that is updated is the Nexus.

In disputes about the troubles of Xiaomi and their smartphones, I am often told that you just need to install custom firmware and the devices will work much better. I'm talking about devices for consumers. Once again I will say this: Xiaomi does not say in its presentation that the firmware is bad and it will have to be replaced. We buy a smartphone so that it serves us faithfully. To make it stable and reliable is the task of its manufacturer.

The decision of the judges of the fight

There is only one referee for this fight. But smartphones competed in different disciplines. Time to show marks for each.

  • Price: draw with a slight margin towards Xiaomi. The Chinese smartphone has had a series of strikes, attracting budget-conscious buyers. Highscreen responded with service and support that appealed to the practical and forward-thinking.
  • Iron: Highscreen win. Xiaomi attracted fans of advanced technologies with a painful reception, but Highscreen stunned with a powerful blow to the battery and sound.
  • Design and materials: win for Xiaomi. The Chinese have made the whole world squint at the dazzling design of Xiaomi smartphones. Highscreen narrowed his eyes and missed a series of blows.
  • Operating system and software: Highscreen win. At the very end of the fight, a banana peel falls from Xiaomi's pocket. Xiaomi knocks itself out. Highscreen prudently left all the garbage in the trash.

The duel turned out to be interesting, but the cruel truth sounds like this. For 17 thousand rubles you can buy a beautiful smartphone from China, which will not work properly without magic and sorcery. Or you can spend this money on a Russian smartphone, which will have a couple of cool features, but even without them it will work well. You can take headphones from Xiaomi.
