3. Holding keys CTRL-Shift on the keyboard, press ENTER.
4. An access dialog will be displayed.
5. Click Yes.
6. The black box opens with a blinking cursor.
7. Enter " regedit" and press ENTER.
8. In the Registry Editor, select the Error 1722-related key (eg. ActiveX) you want to back up.
9. On the menu File select Export.
10. Listed Save to select the folder where you want to save the backup copy of the ActiveX key.
11. In field File name enter a name for the backup file, such as "ActiveX Backup".
12. Make sure the field Export Range value selected Selected branch.
13. Click Save.
14. The file will be saved with .reg extension.
15. You now have a backup of your ActiveX-related registry entry.

How to adjust permissions or remove ActiveX?

With default settings, Internet Explorer asks for permission to run ActiveX, but previously installed applications can change these settings on their own.

Only competent adjustment of browser settings can help to avoid serious problems. If you do not work in IE, then most likely you should disable ActiveX completely.

In Internet Explorer, click on the gear icon with the name "Tools", then click on "Internet Options" and go to the "Security" tab.

Click on the button labeled "Other". In the security settings window that appears, check that the options "Download unsigned ActiveX controls" and "Use ActiveX controls not marked as safe" are disabled. All other items in the subsection "ActiveX controls and plug-ins" switch to the "Offer" position.
