How to make a computer support activex. The ActiveX component was not loaded - what to do. What is this error

Users who actively surf the Internet may encounter a problem when launching some applications in the browser - the error "ActiveX component was not loaded." Most often, this problem appears in the Internet Explorer browser. Next, we will try to clearly explain what it is and how to fix the error loading this add-on.

What is this error?

For a general understanding of the matter, let's deal with the subject of the error itself - the ActiveX component. After all, having understood what it is, you can immediately guess about further actions.

ActiveX technology is a set of special applications that are required to play various multimedia files, plug-ins and flash components in the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser. These components come by default when installing Windows (XP/7/8/10)

Currently, even Microsoft has already abandoned this technology, and many popular browsers are actively switching to NPAPI technology. But still, there are still some devices, applications and web servers that request ActiveX activation.

ActiveX controls also include security features that block the download of inappropriate content and applications that collect personal data. Activix filters monitor such websites and prohibit downloading data from them, after which the user sees an error notification - "ActiveX component was not loaded." This error is most relevant when visiting online banking sites that contain stock tickers, special toolbars and data entry forms.

How to fix component loading error?

So, there are several ways to get around the ban on downloading web resources. We have found the simplest solutions to this problem, so try all of them point by point:

Conclusion

If all these options did not help, then you should contact the resource support. If these sites experience similar failures, then it is likely that there are own solutions in this situation. I hope you understand what to do with the error "ActiveX component was not loaded" and how you can fix it in simple ways.

ActiveX is specialized components, which are separate programs and applications that allow the consumer to create sites of any complexity. The ActiveX.com control can only be integrated into one browser - Internet Explorer. Specifically, the component consists of a set of , which can only be launched in one previously specified Internet browser. Despite the fact that most of today's Internet users complain about slow loading and not the best functionality of Explorer, embedded elements can provide many advantages in work, so you need to know how to enable ActiveX.com.

Elements of the program can be launched in the Internet browser itself

Internet Explorer is the only browser that does not require additional installation. The software product intended for Internet surfing is installed on the user's computer together with Windows OS. Its advantage over other typical programs lies in the use of files that the operating system "takes" at the time of operations. The joint work of Internet Explorer and Windows eliminates errors that may occur during the operation of other typical utilities. In fact, this relationship significantly speeds up the web browser, while minimally loading the system.

Before you enable a custom component, you should be aware that certain files, identical to those used by Internet Explorer 11, help eliminate or fix errors in the operation of the tool. Compliance with this simple condition causes the codes of the embedded component to be directly processed by the operating system.

Pros and cons of the implemented product

If you install ActiveX.com, the user of the software product will be able to:

  • create various software applications in several languages;
  • do not waste time on the additional installation of many additional applications, since the product components can be launched directly in the web browser itself;
  • use in the work a huge number of modern components that use this frame.

The main disadvantage of the add-in is its main advantage, since the programs used in the process of processing codes draw on the resources of the OS itself. In this case, various errors may appear, which are not always corrected in a safe way.

Before installing ActiveX.com on their computer, the consumer should know that this component is often used by hackers and unscrupulous programmers to create viruses with malicious codes.

Application installation

You can install the component in Internet Explorer 11 in just a few minutes. To do this, you must first open the main window of the web browser, find the query "Site" in the list of tabs. The user will be notified about the need to additionally install program elements. In order to build on the software product, the user will be directed to a place to click on later. Next, you have to carry out a few simple procedures.

In an open web browser window, you need to find the main menu, in which there is the word "Service", click on "Internet Options". After that, the corresponding window with properties will open. On the "Security" tab, you must press the "Other" button located at the very bottom of the list.

In the security settings window opened before the user, a huge list with many different actions will be displayed. In the list you need to find "ActiveX Controls" and enable them.

After agreeing to all the manipulations carried out by the system, you should confirm everything with the "OK" button and restart the web browser. A full reboot of the operating system will help correct possible errors.

Conclusion

Installing an Activex application in a browser is quite simple, even an inexperienced user who is just starting to understand how the OS and embedded components can handle it. It should be noted that Explorer 11 is considered a very effective tool for Internet surfing. Installing additional programs and applications will help optimize and establish its smooth operation.

Manually editing the Windows registry to remove invalid Error 1722 keys is not recommended unless you are PC service professional. Mistakes made while editing the registry can render your PC unusable and cause irreparable damage to your operating system. In fact, even a single comma in the wrong place can prevent your computer from booting up!

Because of this risk, we highly recommend using a trusted registry cleaner such as WinThruster [Download] (Developed by Microsoft Gold Certified Partner) to scan and fix any issues related to Error 1722. By using the [Download] Registry Cleaner, you can automate the process of looking for broken registry entries, missing file references (such as those causing the %%error_name%% error), and broken links within the registry. A backup copy is automatically created before each scan, allowing you to undo any changes with a single click and protecting you from possible damage to your computer. The best part is that fixing [Download] registry errors can drastically improve system speed and performance.

A warning: Unless you are an advanced PC user, we do NOT recommend manually editing the Windows Registry. Incorrect use of the Registry Editor can lead to serious problems and require you to reinstall Windows. We do not guarantee that problems resulting from misuse of Registry Editor can be resolved. You use the Registry Editor at your own risk.

Before manually repairing the Windows registry, you need to create a backup by exporting part of the registry related to Error 1722 (eg. ActiveX):

Setting up Internet Explorer

To run ActiveX in Internet Explorer, you must:

As a result of the settings made, the digital signature will be implemented using the ActiveX plugin.

Possible mistakes

ActiveX is a technology on the basis of which components are created for programming sites under Internet Explorer. These components are essentially ordinary programs, with the only difference being that they are not launched by the user, but are executed only in the browser.

ActiveX applications are called controls. They significantly expand the functionality of the site, which is actively used by various companies. It is most likely to "meet" ActiveX controls in the corporate segment of Internet banks. With their help, software programs are downloaded and installed, and dialog boxes for entering pin codes, digital signatures and various functions for sending financial statements are displayed in the browser. In addition to these purely business functions, with the help of such components, you can display an audio and video ActiveX flash player on any site, open various files using a browser and play animation.

Do you need ActiveX?

On the one hand, only Internet Explorer supports ActiveX technology, and most experienced Internet users use other browsers and are unaware of this technology.

But if you are forced to use any sites in your life that require the use of older versions of IE, then you simply need to use ActiveX components.

However, it is necessary to use the possibilities of this technology very carefully. There is a fairly high chance of "catching" a virus by allowing all sites to install ActiveX applications by default. Attackers use this technology to spread spyware, so we need to figure out how to properly configure this application.

How to adjust permissions or remove ActiveX?

With default settings, Internet Explorer asks for permission to run ActiveX, but previously installed applications can change these settings on their own.

Only competent adjustment of browser settings can help to avoid serious problems. If you do not work in IE, then most likely you should disable ActiveX completely.

In Internet Explorer, click on the gear icon with the name "Tools", then click on "Internet Options" and go to the "Security" tab.

Click on the button labeled "Other". In the security settings window that appears, check that the options "Download unsigned ActiveX controls" and "Use ActiveX controls not marked as safe" are disabled. All other items in the subsection "ActiveX controls and plug-ins" switch to the "Offer" position.

Follow the same steps by switching the zone from "Internet" to "Trusted Sites". It will also not be superfluous to add the web addresses of the sites you need to the list of trusted sites. This is done by pressing the button of the same name.

What programs should be installed to replace the disabled ActiveX?

The program completely replaces ActiveX components. Moreover, Flash Player is already installed in modern browsers.

You can do without other programs, just like without ActiveX controls.
