iPhone 3Gs "European" took part in testing, at the moment it is the best option for purchase (and the most expensive one). You don’t need unlocks and so on, insert your SIM card and start working. There is nothing to worry about the software part, in the settings you can set both the Russian language and the Russian keyboard, in general, even now this uncertified device is completely ready for the services of any person, not even familiar with English. One of the very important features of the iPhone 3Gs is the presence of voice control, it starts with a long press on the button below the display (aka "home"). In the settings, you can select the language of voice control, there are many languages. So what can you do and how does it work? Let's start with the possibilities:

• Dialing a subscriber's number, you must say "Call, Julia", for example. This is not to say that everything is cloudless, a lot depends on how you pronounce the word. Some contacts are dialed the first time, some are not dialed at all, as if they do not exist. I believe that optimization has simply not been carried out here yet; when typing in English, everything is an order of magnitude better.
• A set of numbers, you need to say "Number, eight nine zero and so on." There are no questions at all, it works perfectly, everything is fine.
• There are a lot of commands for the player, you can start or pause playback with your voice, turn on the Shuffle mode, make the player play similar songs (Genius), turn on such and such an album or playlist. Even when I wrote about VoiceOver in the iPod Shuffle, I suggested something similar in the iPhone - here it is, visual confirmation. The voice control works fine, as long as it does not come to long names, for example, many mixes are called that by me. The device copes with ordinary albums without difficulty, when the title is relatively short and distinct, the album and playlist are understandable. Let's say I have playlists "Morning", "Afternoon", "Evening" - there are no questions, great.

If the name of the subscriber you called is not entirely clear or several similar names are found, the device will warn you about this and offer you to choose.

Surely there are still a number of improvements and changes to be made here, however, even in the current state, the voice control of the iPhone 3Gs is extremely convenient in some cases, its presence and implementation pleases. True, there are no instructions here, on the display you see the names of the commands, when you pronounce the word, the waves “jump”, demonstrating that the device has heard you. And guidance, in my opinion, is necessary.

Voice control also works when using a headset. You can activate it with a long press of the multi-function button, just like with the iPod Shuffle - say a command, get an action. Interestingly, when using a wired headset, there are much fewer problems with determining the name in the address book.

Well, let's get down to the final chords. New from Apple can not be called the "hottest" in 2009 or the most anticipated. This is a neat and logical continuation of the iPhone 3G with very strong differences, all of them extremely positive:

• The speed of work has really increased greatly, due to this, daily use has become an order of magnitude more pleasant, much more pleasant. This is especially true when working with heavy applications. Let's hope that game developers will use the hardware capabilities of the iPhone 3Gs to its fullest.
• The display coating really protects you from tedious and lengthy cleaning, makes the device tidy; I don't know how, but this thing works.
• Headset with full remote control.
• I liked the implementation of voice control, let's hope that recognition will work better in localized devices.
• Nike+iPod, having this app out of the box is a nice addition.

The rest of the additions, this is both video and a compass, are less important. Not many shoot video on a phone, in addition, there were applications for the iPhone that allowed you to do this trick. It's good, of course, that this functionality is there initially, but it's secondary here (to put it mildly).

So, to begin with, a conclusion for iPhone 3G owners who do not want to switch to anything else. It is worth updating, you will feel the difference in the first hours of use. For example, it's time for me to return the phone to the owners, and I think with horror about how I can switch back to the iPhone 3G. When, how and for how much to buy 3Gs is up to you, you can take a "European", you can wait for the start of official sales, it all depends on the amount in your wallet. You can, after all, stay on 3G in anticipation of new devices, but no one knows when that will be. I doubt that before the middle of 2010 a new iPhone model will appear in Russia.

Conclusion for owners of other devices, smartphones or communicators. At the moment, the iPhone 3Gs provides the owner with unique opportunities for working with a touch screen, surfing the web, interesting and simple mail, and how the iPhone gaming platform has long outdone all competitors (if we talk about phones). Neither the N-gage nor the SE's gaming streaks compare to what's happening with iPhone games. You can find a lot of good toys, many of them are extremely unusual and exciting. This is the first moment. The second is video viewing capabilities, this is YouTube, which works perfectly, given the size of the display (3.5 inches, resolution 480x320 pixels) and the speed of work, viewing becomes extremely enjoyable. The third point: despite the seeming "uncorporate", the iPhone may well become your faithful companion in business. For example, using Apple's MobileMe service, you get the ability to synchronize mail, calendar, contacts, bookmarks in the browser between a laptop (in my case) and a phone. Thanks to him, right on the phone, you can use the iDisk program to store and view office documents and other files (including music). I am not agitating anyone, but to say that the iPhone is “for ladies” and cannot perform some mysterious “business functions” is at least ridiculous.

Another thing is that I would not recommend this device for purchase to everyone. Say, if your main tasks are to call, write SMS, then it is hardly worth spending money. I won't recommend 3Gs to "modern fashionistas" either - there are much more interesting novelties for you, such as Nokia N97, Samsung i8910 and so on. Apple devices are no longer fashionable, they forgot, they passed, it's time to understand this. And anyway, it was sold for nine thousand, fu, a nightmare, cheap stuff. For mods, this is a nightmare and impossible. Also, in no case should Windows Mobile adherents approach 3Gs - there is nowhere to dig, there is nothing special to configure, so it's not worth it. If you are interested, surfing from a mobile device is important, normal, beautiful mail, multimedia capabilities, convenience and speed of work are important, then yes, iPhone 3Gs is your choice.

Apple managed to do the impossible: not only penetrate into a seemingly already established market, but also turn over a number of established foundations. For example, this is a constant completion of the existing OS for a family of devices. And not abandoning it, inventing a new system, inventing new devices for a new system, completing a new system, not everything worked out, abandoning it, inventing a new system, new devices, completing, refusing - further ad infinitum. That's what some other companies do. The hint, I think, is clear. The appearance of the iPhone 3Gs, and not some infernal mechanism in which everything is new, from hardware to the interface, just demonstrates Apple's approach in this area. Very reminiscent of a joke about a couple of bulls slowly descending from the mountain.

You can distinguish the novelty from its predecessor only by the markings on the rear panel: the 2008 device has a matte marking color, while the 2009 gadget has bright white.

iPhone 4, or which iPhone came out in 2010

This year, for the first time, the form factor of the smartphone was significantly redesigned. The iPhone 4 model was created in a new stylish design, received a 3.5-inch Retina display and, as usual, was equipped with the latest hardware and updated software. The color scheme of the devices remained the same: gadgets were produced only in black and white.

The iPhone 4s was released in 2011. The year 2012 was marked by the appearance of the iPhone 5. And again, a change in design followed, the display increased from 3.5 to 4 inches, the rear glass panel was replaced by a metal one, a Lightning connector was added and nano SIM support was added.

iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, or which iPhones were released in 2013

Contrary to tradition, two models are released at once: iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s. Innovations in the first model are limited to the hardware improvement of the iPhone 5, additional color options and a plastic case.

As for the iPhone 5s smartphone, compared to its predecessor, its design has not changed much, but an important element has appeared - a Touch ID fingerprint scanner built into the Home button.

This year, Apple's management decided to release two smartphone models in parallel at once: a regular one and with an enlarged screen diagonal. At the beginning of 2016, the iPhone SE suddenly appears, the design of which is borrowed from the iPhone 5s, and the hardware from the iPhone 6s.

In autumn 2016, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus were released. Outwardly, they do not differ much from the models of the previous year, except that new colors have been added once again.

Already a few months before the presentation of smartphones in 2017, it was known that Apple for the first time will show three devices at once - a flagship with top specifications and unique features, as well as a logical continuation of the 4.7- and 5.5-inch line of devices.

The event was held at the company's new headquarters. The heads of Apple departments who spoke on the stage kept the illusion of intrigue until the last, and the audience tried not to yawn in anticipation of "One more thing". Nevertheless, Phil Schiller managed to draw the attention of the audience to the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus from the first seconds of his speech.

The main design feature of the "eights" was the glass back panel, which made it possible to implement the wireless charging function. Otherwise, the appearance of smartphones has not changed much compared to 2016, and only a rare case from the iPhone 6 will not fit the iPhone 8.

The screen, cameras and peripheral modules have changed minimally. We can highlight the technology already mentioned above, the 4-LED flash of the main camera, Bluetooth 5.0, a function that is a system that adapts the screen glow to ambient lighting.
